You are one of House of Travel’s youngest Owner Operators ever, how did you get to become an Owner Operator?
The previous owner was leaving Westport to be closer to family and after working under her for 4 years I was given this amazing opportunity to take over.
What is a day in the life of your role?
No two days are the same in the travel industry and that’s what makes it so exciting. Every day you are planning trips that can be close to home, the other side of the world and even places you have never heard of!
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to become an Owner Operator?
Take the leap! You will have so much support in all aspects of the business from the HOT family you won’t be doing it on your own.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to help my clients plan and book their dream holidays and hearing all their amazing stories when they get back.
What is your favourite thing about working for HOT?
My favourite part about working for HOT is the people. It is such a supportive company to work for and there are people in every part of the business to help you whether it be with ticketing and quoting flights, land product knowledge to the awesome executive team – you never feel like you are alone.
Do you have a favourite destination?
For close to home; Fiji – for the people and the huge array of options to stay and activities to do. I could go back year after year. For further afield Vietnam was also a great destination, I hope to go back to one day and a family Disneyland trip I did when I was younger is still up there!
Bucketlist destination?
I would love to eventually get to South America but to further my experience and knowledge it would be good to get to Europe sometime!
