What is a day in the life of your role?
CRAZY BUSY but I wouldn’t have it any other way as it’s such a buzz, an adrenaline rush for me.
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to pursue a career as a Travel Consultant?
Be passionate about what you do as this will shine through to your client. Remember, it is a privilege to be looking after what is potentially a dream holiday, they are entrusting you with their memories. At times it will be extremely challenging but the satisfaction of job well done will be worth it. Be patient is the best advice I can give.
What do you love most about your job?
I love making a sale especially when it is one that I have worked really hard for.
What is something unique about your team?
I consider our team a family and we always have each other’s back no matter what. Like any family we have photo’s of our travels, things we have done together, silly things on our cork board in the staffroom.
What is your favourite thing about working for HOT?
For me it’s more a way of life, I just love what I do. It’s really hard to explain but I feel like I belong to this very special club, it’s part of my DNA, everybody knows my name & can’t imagine ever working anywhere else. Being a HOTTIE to me is like being an All Black but better.
Do you have a favourite destination?
Mauritius was a definite highlight for me. I quite often say to my wife “We will always have Mauritius”.
Bucketlist destination?
I need more buckets as still have too many on my list but if I had one it would be Dubai.
