What is a day in the life of your role?
My day starts off with a coffee while checking for any urgent emails. I then do admin and the social media plan, while talking to clients who call or walk in about their dream holidays. After lunch I deal with clients walking in, appointments, phone calls and emails. Its all a juggling act! My day ends by writing a list of tasks to do for the following day
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to pursue a career as a Travel Consultant?
Never give up. Take that maternity role, even if it’s only for three months, you never know where it will take you (my first role started this way). Personally take your CV into stores you see yourself working in. Owners will then remember you and you become more than a CV on an email.
What do you love most about your job?
I love making peoples dreams become reality. Seeing their excitement and hearing of their adventures upon returning gives me a sense of achievement. Everyday is different and I am forever learning.
What is something unique about your team?
I could say a lot of things here! We work very well together, we support each other both within work and outside of work. We are family.
What is your favourite thing about working for HOT?
Everyone cares so much about each other. You can reach out to anyone in any department or store and they will help you. It's like one big family.
Do you have a favourite destination?
Slovenia is my absolute favourite country. It's quiet and untouched, there is just something about it that words cannot describe!
Bucketlist destination?
This is difficult to narrow down to just one, however Antarctica is up there along with Japan.
