To top it all off, we cross the border to Zimbabwe to view the mighty Victoria Falls. There is an option to start this tour on day 2 in Maun. Selected dates can be combined with a 15 day safari tour through Namibia. Itinerary Day 1 Depart Johannesburg at 6.30am. Head north and cross the border into Botswana. Game drive in Khama Rhino Sanctuary and overnight. Day 2 Drive through the Kalahari to Maun and the gateway to the Okavango Delta by late afternoon. There is the option to join the tour today and skip two long driving days by flying into Maun airport. Day 3-4 Two nights wild camping in the Okavango Delta at our serviced tented camp that we will reach by local mokoro (dug-out) canoe. Explore by mekoro and on foot with our local poler guides as we explore their ‘big backyard.’ Day 5-8 We drive by 4WD to our bush lodge which sits on a private concession in the wilderness bordering Moremi Game Reserve for a 3-night stay. Spend your days on open 4WD game drives in arguably one of the best game viewing destinations in Southern Africa. We return to our lodge in Maun at approx. midday on Day 7. Day 9 There is time for an optional game flight over the Okavango Delta this morning (own expense) before we drive to Nata. From here we will explore the shimmering salt pans of Makgadikgadi. Day 10-11 We head to the northern reaches of Chobe National Park to our lodge located in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River. There will be an early morning game drive and afternoon cruise on the river in a small game viewing boat. You are assured of some up-close sightings of the wildlife in and around the river. Day 12-13 Leave Botswana and cross into Zimbabwe to Victoria Falls. The mighty Zambezi River thunders 100m over the gorge creating a magnificent spectacle. Explore Victoria Falls on foot with a local guide. There is a free day to make the most of the many adventure activities available in and around the Falls. Day 14 Your safari ends this morning. Airport transfers are available. On selected dates there is an option to join a 15 day safari through Namibia.
