Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is the focal point of Malaysia and the nation’s capital. The action here lies in the city centre dubbed the ‘Golden Triangle’ – a madcap mix of modern hotels and large shopping complexes complemented by traces of its British colonial past and cultural beliefs.

Penang
Penang

This turtle shaped island is located 8 kilometres west of mainland Malaysia and accessible by road over two bridges, ferry or plane. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Penang is well known for its easy going kampungs (villages), sandy beaches, sightseeing and food.

Langkawi
Langkawi

An archipelago made up of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea just 30 kilometres off the coast of mainland Malaysia. Langkawi’s main island is accessible by plane or ferry from the mainland or Penang and surrounded by beautiful beaches, paddy rice fields, lush tropical rainforest and incredible wildlife.

East Coast

On the east coast of the peninsula, slightly lesser known islands of Tioman, Redang and the Perhentian Islands also offer some fantastic island escapes. Renowned for their white sandy beaches, crystal blue waters and abundant marine life, they are fast becoming ‘must-dos’ for underwater enthusiasts, or those who just want to laze around on an exotic tropical island.

 



SOME THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN MALAYSIA



Petronas Twin Towers PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS

Observe KL from the world’s tallest twin towers; it takes all of 41 seconds to shoot up to the midpoint of Petronas Twin Towers. Tickets to the skybridge sell out fast, but how often do you get to feel on top of the world?
Batu Caves BATU CAVES
 

Located 13 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur. Featuring a complex of giant limestone caves housing Hindu temples. Take a walk up the 272 steps to be greeted by monkeys – be careful not to carry any food or plastic bags with you.
Malacca DAY TRIP TO MALACCA
 
Only 2 hours from KL, this quaint relaxed town is rich with history and culture from the ruling of the Portugese, Dutch and British. Take a stroll down Jonker St for cute shops offering Nyonya fashion, shoes, souvenirs as well as cafés and pubs.
Chinatown CHINATOWN

Located in and around Petaling Street, the area features a market, Chinese food options, and Chinese cultural attractions such as temples. The street food vendors that set up here at night are particularly popular.
Kek Lok Si Temple KEK LOK SI TEMPLE

The largest Buddhist Temple in Malaysia, located hillside and dating back to the early 20th century. Reach the top by a mini-funicular train where you’ll be greeted by a giant statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Over Chinese New Year the temple is covered with hundreds of lanterns which makes for an even more spectacular photo..
Penang Hawker Food PENANG HAWKER FOOD
 

As Penang is the food capital of Malaysia, visit Gurney Drive. It’s the best of Penang on a plate! Hawkers fire up their woks and dish out street food fit for a king. The popular seafront promenade exemplifies the colours and atmosphere of Penang – fun, lively and vibrant.
Langkawi Sky Bridge LANGKAWI CABLE CAR AND SKY BRIDGE
 

A 15 minute journey by cable car will see you to the top of Mt. Mat Cincang. Admire the lush rainforests and the minuscule islands from the 708 metre peak. Head to the observatory deck or make your way to the 125 metre long curved sky bridge. This bridge suspends by cable, so it’s not for the faint-hearted.
Peking Duck TELAGA TUJUH WATERFALLS
 

Also known as the Seven Wells, this is a group of seven pools connected by a series of waterfalls flowing down the side of Mat Cincang Mountain. Head to the foot of the mountain and walk up the steps to the lowest pool or hike to an upper pool. The locals believe the area is a favourite haunt for mountain fairies
Underwater World UNDERWATER WORLD
 

Housing more than 500 species of sea creatures including penguins, flamingos and harbour seals. Take a walk through the underwater tunnel for up close and personal views of giant stingrays, green turtles and sharks.
Canopy Trekking CANOPY TREKKING
 

Gunung Raya is Langkawi’s tallest mountain and home to 400 different tree species and an array of wildlife. Here you can abseil, climb, rappel and glide over treetops on a cable system 100 feet above the ground.
Island Hopping ISLAND HOPPING
 

Take a boat to a nearby island. One of our favourites is the island of the Pregnant Maiden, only 15 minutes from Langkawi. With a huge limestone hill in the middle of the island rising high above a dense rainforest. Make sure you take a dip in the refreshing Pregnant Maiden Lake to cool down.
