WHY YOU NEED TO SEE VIVID SYDNEY
Experience this epic annual festival that lights up Sydney – literally! For 23 days and nights, Sydney is transformed into a celebration of creativity, innovation and technology, in collaboration with some of the most boundary pushing artists, thinkers, musicians and culinary experts of our time. The artistic direction for Vivid Sydney’s 14th year is Humanity.
MY HOT TIPS
Be sure to stay a few nights - this year’s festival of light, ideas, music and food is united by the theme “Humanity” – and stretches 8.5km. Pack your comfy walking shoes and enjoy exploring Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour. It’s very popular so plan to visit on a weeknight or enjoy dinner first and explore later.
MY VIVID HIGHLIGHTS
A night-time harbour cruise provides front-row views of Sydney’s illuminated landmarks including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Museum of Contemporary Art Australia – a cruise is a great an d relaxing way to enjoy the lights - and the dinner was yummy too!
BridgeClimb’s ‘Vivid Sydney Climb’ delivers dazzling night views over the whole city for the those bold enough to make the climb – I was a little hesitant but so glad I did it – it was amazing and provided such a different perspective.
For both of these unique and popular experiences you’ll need to book in advance.
