WHY HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA?
For a relatively small country, Cambodia has a huge amount to discover. Big on temples, natural landscapes and history, it's hard to believe so many wonders could be contained in such a small area. The world-famous temples of Angkor is often the main reason many people visit Cambodia, however as Bruce discovers, this incredibly diverse country with friendly locals and authentic cultural experiences offers more than meets the eye.
MY HOT TIPS
Comparative to Machu Picchu and the Pyramids of Giza, the collection of temples at Angkor Archaeological Park (the most famous is Angkor Wat) is a sight to behold. I recommend you explore this impressive area with a guide, there is so much to learn! Covering over 400 square kilometres, including forests, the ancient stone city is a masterpiece. One of the best ways to explore the famous Jungle Temple is by bike – you’ll ride through back roads and jungle paths to experience a selection of the Angkor temples without the crowds.
Leave civilization behind and venture into the Jungles of Cardamom National Park – enjoy a sundowner next to Raging Big Sister Falls – an incredible experience!
Uncover a more authentic side to this fascinating country – enjoy a unique Khmer experience, stay in a jungle villa & explore hidden beaches.
MY FAVOURITE CAMBODIA HIGHLIGHTS
Miss the crowds and fly high over the Angkor Wat temples in a hot air balloon – the views and enormity of this area is simply breathtaking.
Master the art of the Khmer cuisine with a cooking class in Siem Reap, a cultural experience that's ideal for food lovers. We made the most delicious coconut fish curry I’ve ever tasted!
A visit to Song Saa will treat you to a private island experience - our luxurious jungle villa was fit for a king! We snorkelled amongst the most exquisite coral and enjoyed the freshest seafood – an absolutely indulgent way to end a holiday that left us awestruck!
BEST TIME TO GO
