Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Paro - Thimphu
The flight into Bhutan takes you close to the great Himalayas, offering dazzling scenic views of some of the world’s highest glacial peaks. As you enter Paro valley, you will sweep past forested hills with the silvery Paro Chu (Paro river) meandering down the valley below. Paro Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (National Museum) on the hills above the town will be a fine sight. Upon arrival in Paro, our tour executive will welcome you at the airport’s arrival lounge with a TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS signboard and drive you to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, an exciting blend of tradition and modernity. After check-in relax yourself and your overnight will be in the hotel. Meals: D
Day 2: Thimphu
After breakfast indulge in a full sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Visit the 15th-century Changangkha monastery and the new Drupthob Nunnery temple. Visit the Dzong and the market area. Enjoy your overnight stay at your hotel. Meals: B, L, D
Day 3: Thimphu Trongsa
After an early breakfast start your scenic drive to Trongsa. Pass streams, forests and villages before climbing the Pelela Pass. The drive will be successful to lure you all throughout, on the Black Mountain range into the Trongsa Valley with breathtaking views. Upon arrival in Trongsa check in to your designated hotel for an overnight stay. Meals: B, L, D
Day 4: Trongsa - Bumthang
Early morning Drive to Bumthang, Today, we will enjoy the Bumthang sightseeing. We will then drive to visit the Wangdicholing, formerly the palace of Royals. Continuing from Wangdichholing Palace, we reach Jambay and Kurjey Monastery and then visit Jakar Dzong and Tamshing Monasteries. We stop for refreshment at the Swiss Farm House, Cheese and Beer Factory and village handicraft shops. Stay overnight in Bumthang. Meals: B, L, D
Day 5: Bumthang - Punakha
Morning explore the valley and travel to Punakha. Visit Punakha Dzong; a remarkable fortress and Simtokha Dzong which now serves as a Buddhist university. Stay overnight at Hotel. Meals: B, L, D
Day 6: Punakha - Paro
After breakfast start the sightseeing trip around the Paro valley. Visit Ta Dzong which houses the National Museum, the ruins of Drugyel Dzong and the courtyard of Kichu Lhakhang one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan, dated 7th century AD. Later in the evening, take a stroll around Paro town. Meals: B, L, D
Day 7: Paro
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast visit Taksang which is also known as The Tiger's Nest, a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located in the cliff side of the upper Paro valley, Bhutan. A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan and is the tutelary deity of the country. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen taktsang or "tiger lair" caves in which he meditated. Return back to your hotel for overnight stay. Meals: B, L, D
Day 8: Paro Departure
After breakfast tour finishes with transfer to Paro airport. Meals: B
