OUR FAVOURITE WAYS TO EXPERIENCE QUEENSLAND

Family Fun

Family Fun

It’s hard to argue with the Gold Coast’s tagline ‘famous for fun’, so we wont. With your littlies in tow, there are more pint-sized adventure options to choose from in the Gold Coast than most.

Enjoy a day out with the family at the Broadwater Parklands where you can enjoy a picnic or BBQ, fish off the pier, take a swim or splash around in the rockpools. Head over to the playground where they have a bouncy pillow, swings, bike education track, monorail pedal bikes and a flying fox – the best thing is that it’s all free!

Theme Parks

Dreamworld Theme Parks

Welcome to Australia’s biggest theme park – Dreamworld! Bursting with happiness, there are over 50 rides and attractions on offer at Dreamworld providing fun for the whole family. Ride the Big 9 Thrill Rides, meet Kai the tiger cub, let the kids’ imaginations run wild in ABC KIDS WORLD and the DreamWorks Experience, plus check out the new Motor Sports Precinct. All in one massive location, WhiteWater World boasts some of the hottest waterslides on the planet, right next door. With over 30 water slides and the toddler friendly Wiggle Bay, the family will love coming back year round. For a change of pace, SkyPoint, Australia’s only beachside observation deck located in the iconic Q1 building, offers spectacular 360 degree views of the glistening coastline and hinterland and beyond.

Reef

Reef and Sailing

Whether you’re a seasoned diver, a beginner snorkeller, a sailor or just love being on the water, there is a tour and an adventure perfect for you.

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef structure in the world, comprising more that 2900 reefs and 900 islands and stretching over 2000 kilometres – you can even see it from the moon! As a World Heritage site, it hosts thirty species of whales, dolphins and porpoises, six species of turtle and the not-sopretty dugong, as well as plenty of brilliantly coloured fish living amongst stunning coral gardens. A definite must do while holidaying in Tropical North Queensland.

Rainforest

Rainforest Experiences

The World Heritage-listed rainforests surround this area in all directions and can be experienced in many different ways. Over 79 percent of the land is protected, including the Daintree, Cape Tribulation, Atherton Tablelands and Mission Beach. Whether you want to experience the rainforest from below or from above, there are plenty of options. Glide over the rainforest canopy on a flying fox or from the comfort of a gondola or take a walk and explore the volcanic lakes, spectacular waterfalls and you may even come face to face with an endangered Southern Cassowary.

Adventure

Cultural, Wildlife & Adventure Experiences

Experience the stories, the smiles and the history of the indigenous Australians. Stand in the world’s oldest open-air gallery at an indigenous rock art site and learn traditional painting and hunting skills. Cuddle a koala, or something a little scarier – a large python or a small crocodile at the Cairns Tropical Zoo. Or if you’re brave enough, head to Hartleys Crocodile Adventures, where you can see crocodiles in their natural environments as well as entertaining wildlife presentations. There is so much to see and do in the Tropical North, so head up to the skies and see it all from a birds-eye view in a Hot Air Balloon – a truly amazing experience.

Outback

Outback Queensland

Reconnect with the land and walk the paths where dinosaurs used to roam, fossicking for bones that date back 95 million years. Learn about the traditional landowners and their place in the Outback story, and the landowners of today – the farmers and the cattle stations, some of which are the size of a small country!

Being in the Outback is all about the journey, not just the destination. Take the road less travelled and meet some of the friendliest locals in the most iconic places. Enjoy the spirit and hospitality of true-blue towns in comfort and style or share a night out under the endless stars with a campfire.

  5. APARTMENTS
  6. Great option for families and a group of friends but just a few things you need to know when booking an apartment. Each apartment is privately owned therefore the owner can choose to decorate their own unit so the apartment you book may not look like the apartment in our brochure. There are also many three level apartments with NO lifts – you will need to carry your own bags up/ down the stairs. These are serviced 7-10 days of your stay.

  7. FREEDOM ON WHEELS
  8. Plenty of opportunities to bring out the ‘Sunday Driver’ in you via a range of scenic drives. Hire a car and drive at your own leisure without a care in the world as time is no issue. Either map out your road trip or just take the scenic route and stop along the way and immerse yourself in the changing landscape and take in the different sounds. Road trips are the best to discover all the hidden gems. Just remember, Queensland is a big state, so you won’t run out of destinations, iversions and things to see and do – it can be as long as you want!

There are so many local restaurants, bars and cafés to choose from to make your money last longer while enjoying the buzzing foodie scene without burning a hole in your back pocket. Tempt your taste buds and celebrate all things food – you’ll be returning home with a full belly!

  11. SHOP O'CLOCK
  12. From international brands, discounted outlet malls to eclectic market stalls – there is something for everyone. Check out the markets for local produce, entertainment as well as arts and crafts - it is the perfect place to pick up unique items and sample tasty local food. Just remember, not a lot of the stalls will have eftpos so don’t forget to take some cash. Pick up a bargain at an Outlet Shopping Centre offering up to 70% off or visit the local shopping mall, where all the stores are under one roof. Where ever you choose to shop there will be something with your name on it waiting to be purchased, just don’t forget your wallet!
