GETTING THERE.
The most direct route to the Hunter Valley is via the M1 motorway which takes around 2 hours. Be sure to avoid peak traffic. Or take a more scenic trip - take the Calga exit for Tourist Drive 33 to historic Wollombi and then on to Pokolbin which is around 2.5 hours.

LOCAL TREATS.
Wine isn’t all that the Hunter region is renowned for – you’ll have to find room for scrummy local produce that ranges from figs to fudge, boutique beers to be sampled, dozens of great art galleries, craft and antique stores to peruse, and wine and cooking schools to attend.
CLIMATE.
The Hunter Valley has a Mediterranean climate with warm spring and summer days, and brisk nights in autumn and winter. In summer the average daily temperature is between 28-30°C and in winter 16-18°C, dipping to lows of 2-4°C overnight.
