Sounds Air is a small New Zealand owned and operated airline opened in 1986. The airline has a fleet of eight small turboprop aircraft which carry nine or twelve passengers. The airline started by offering flights between Wellington and their home base at Picton, on the north of the South Island. Recently Sounds Air has picked up some services that were axed from Air New Zealand’s network.
The Difference
- As Picton Airport is a fair way from the township, Sounds Air offers shuttle transfers to and from the town for $7 per person each way.
- Sounds Air also offer scenic flights throughout the Marlborough Sounds.
