A subtropic climate, with 2 seasons characterised by warm to hot summers during December to April, reaching on average 32°C. The cool to mild winters occurs from May to November averaging 27°C or below.
The wet season usually occurs during summer from January to April, and peaking during March, the subtropic humidity has Tonga averaging 80% humidity on a daily basis.
Infrequent cyclones occur during November and March with a more major cyclone occurring every decade or so.
