Itinerary
Day 1: Khao Lak - Kuraburi - Turquoise Bays & Coral Reefs
After early breakfast at your hotel in Khao Lak, transfer to the office in Kuraburi. Meet your translator for a pre-trip briefing Depart by speedboat to Koh Surin National Park. The five islands of Mu Koh Surin consist of dense jungle hills, rocks, and white sandy beaches. The islands are surrounded by rich coral reefs and diverse sea life. Check into your tent accommodation at the National Park Headquarters. Relax, unwind and enjoy the peaceful beach with its blue waters and white sand. Enjoy a Thai lunch at the national park restaurant. Meet your Moken guide and take a snorkel tour to see the underwater life of the sea gypsies, how they have adapted to living in the water, and why they love it. Watch as your Moken guide spots sea turtles and sharks swimming in the waters* End your day with your Moken guide and return to the park headquarters for free time. Relax and enjoy the sunset from the white sand beach Dinner will be served at the national park’s restaurant.

Day 2: Life on the Sea Gypsies
Breakfast will be served at the National Park headquarters. Meet your local guide and take a long tail boat trip to the Moken village. A tour around the village is an insight into the intricate relationship between the Moken and their surrounding environment. Learn about the brightly colored “Spirit Poles” and Moken homes, built on wooden stilts directly on the beach. Participate in a handicraft workshop and learn the traditional art of Moken weaving. Use forest Pandanus leaves to weave a natural bracelet. Keep it as a souvenir and show off to your friends at home. Have the packed lunch at a Moken house and then learn about the traditional Moken house.
After lunch it is time for a hike in the jungle. Your Moken guide will highlight useful plants, including medicinal herbs, edible species, and those used in construction of traditional houseboats.
In afternoon you will enjoy a snorkelling tour and coral reef exploration with Moken guide. Your guide will take you to a wonderland of colourful tropical fish and allow you to witness the impressive Moken swimming techniques. Back at the park headquarters enjoy free time to walk the beach, some swimming, relaxing time to read a book and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the National Park and enjoy the sunset. Dinner will be served at the National Park’s head quarter restaurant.

Day 3: Mythology of the Moken
Breakfast will be served at the park headquarters. Relax, unwind, and enjoy the peaceful beach with its blue waters and white sand. Reunite with your local Moken guide for more snorkelling at a new site. Enjoy colorful fishes at some of the best coral reefs in Thailand. Watch as your Moken guide try to spot sea turtles and sharks swimming in the waters*. Or opt for another visit to the Moken village and try your hand at rowing a Moken “row-boat” and re-enacting their method of spear fishing. End your morning with your Moken guide and return to the park headquarters for free time. Back to the park headquarters to have lunch, then pack your belongs and prepare for departure from the island. Depart from Koh Surin by speedboat back to Kuraburi town, followed by a transfer to your hotel in Khao Lak. (Breakfast & Lunch)
