However, it also has the largest airport terminal in the world, and one of the most modern, so is a pleasure the travel through. Over 100 airlines fly to Dubai, from 260 destinations around the world. Inside the airport is a plethora of shops offering everything you could possibly want. In terminal hotels mean that you can get a room between flights without having to clear security/customs, and there’s even complimentary shower facilities. Other facilities include prayer rooms, smoking rooms and medical centres. ***Important Security Information*** If travelling on to the UK, USA or Canada from Dubai International Airport, you will be required to show that any electronic or battery powered devices on your person do in fact work. Security staff will ask you to demonstrate that the devices work by switching them on, so you must ensure you have sufficient battery power to do this. If you cannot prove it works, it will be confiscated (or you will be denied boarding). This applies to all electronic or battery powered devices such as cellphones, iPods, laptops, e-books and tablets.
