The weekly roundup: 28 July 2017 - Game of Thrones' bakeries, mud fights and pods to put your husband in.

So, little fair world of ours, what have you been up to this week? From global trends to worldwide oddities, this is what made the headlines over the past seven days (give or take)...

Husband storage pods
SHANGHAI MALL KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH MOPING MEN

Shanghai's Global Harbour Mall has a solution for bored husbands stuck on a shopping spree with their better half. The husband storage pods have been assembled to house moping husbands while their partners shop. Kitted out with retro 90s video games and a more comfortable seat than your average department store, wives can shop while their husbands flop.

You Know Nothing John Dough!

GAME OF THRONES' 'HOT PIE' ACTOR OPENS A BAKERY IN LONDON
For the non-GoT fans amongst us (boo and hiss), Hot Pie is a character on the show who makes the wholly moreish Direwolf Bread. And now fiction has collided quite spectacularly with real life as the actor, real name Ben Hawkey, opens a GoT inspired bakery in London. Called....wait for it.... "You Know Nothing John Dough"

Punny!!!!!!!!

Incredible. The Direwolf will actually be delivered by online food ordering company, Deliveroo, but with each delicious baked good only costing a quid, if you're in the capital, get on the blower and order 10.

Reach Falls, Jamaica

DO YOU DARE JUMP THROUGH THE RABBIT HOLE?
Reach Falls, approximately an hour and a half's drive from Ocho Rios in Jamaica, is such a secret, hardly anyone knows about it. Until now. Get in quick before social media exposes the beautiful truth.

Surrounded by lush rainforest, the real highlight is the hidden cave behind one of the waterfalls. Step in, momentarily disappear and then reemerge just above the cascade. For the very brave only. Hats off to you!

Mud festival, South Korea

WANNA GET DIRTY
Are you heading to South Korea over the weekend? If so, you should try and attend the annual mud festival in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province.

Taking place between Friday July 21st and July 30th, you've got until Sunday to get involved in the country's biggest mud fight. Release your inner child, or lather up and enjoy the healing properties of this mineral-rich goo. With shows, street parades and thousands of attendees, if you can't make it this year, put it on your 2018 agenda.

Dubai Miracle Garden

FULL BLOOMS IN THE DESERT

Only in Dubai. If there's something this city wants, this city gets. Who knew you could showcase 45 million blooming flowers in the desert?

Dubai Miracle Garden is spread over 72,000sq/metres and is better described as an immersive art exhibit. With inventive sculptures and stunning designs, the park's home to the region's biggest flower garden and even features a real-size version of an Emirates A380 airplane. Covered in flora, it's not surprisingly the world’s largest floral installation.
