THE LATEST FITNESS TREND
Who's up for downward dog? Or should that be bent over goat? A new craze is sweeping across rural America and it's called goat yoga. That's right, yoga and goats. Because goats like to improve their strength and flexibility too.
Actually the goats mostly just wander around and socialise with the group. Chewing yoga mats and posing for goat selfies, but they're meant to be hugely therapeutic. And we're assured they hardly ever defecate.
Beertaps in every bedroom
THE WORLD'S FIRST CRAFT BEER HOTEL
The future of hen and stag dos is starting to look a lot like mayhem. More mayhem. Scottish brewer, BrewDog, will open a crowdfunded craft beer hotel in Columbus, Ohio in September 2018.
And yes, there will be beer taps in EVERY. SINGLE. BEDROOM. But that's not it:
- A craft beer spa with beer-based treatments
- A hot tub filled with Punk IPA
- A beer fridge in the shower!!!
- Beer-infused three-course breakfasts, lunches, and dinner
- As well as your regular pints of artisanal craft beer
It's all part of a crowdfunding campaign, but we have a sneaky feeling they might just make the 7 mill needed to get this hotel going. Can't help but feel a little bit sorry for house keeping though.
INSTANTLY TRANSLATE YOUR WORDS WITH iLi
Say goodbye (or adios, au revoir, sayonara) to language barriers with the ili wearable translator. Pop it around your neck and it will instantly translate the phrase you want to use into the local language. Plus, it doesn't even need Internet connection to work. Simply push and hold the centre button and away you go.
To explain it further, here's a cheeky chap from the UK. We're not sure this is exactly what the manufacturers had in mind when they created it:
The Micro Wind Turbine
THE POWER OF WIND WILL CHARGE YOUR PHONE
Campers and hikers the world over, prepare to have your mind blown. And also your smart phone.
The Micro Wind Turbine is a portable energy source which enables you to charge USB devices purely by wind power. It weighs less than 1kg and folds down to the size of a trekking pole, so you can easily slip it into your backpack and get cracking. Oh and if you like specifics, with a wind speed of 18 km/h, it'll produce a constant output of 5 Watts.
Epic hiking selfies are all but a gust of wind away.
Banksy opens a hotel
WELCOME TO HOTEL CONTRAVERSIAL
Not the actual name, but it should be. It's called The Walled Off Hotel and it's sprung up in in Bethlehem, West Bank Israel. As you'd expect, there's a reason for the location. As ever, Banksy's politically subversive voice resonates throughout the nine (media-only) guest rooms. There are clouds of tear gas, a canvas which depicts an Israeli border police officer and a Palestinian man caught in a pillow fight, and “the worst view in the world,” which overlooks the Israel-Palestine security barrier.
It's not exactly lighthearted, but then what did we expect from the world's most prolific political activist... come hotelier.
Take a look inside Banksy's hotel here.
