Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

Las Vegas, America

In June 2019 I enjoyed a girls trip to Vegas.  We flew Virgin Australia and arrived into LA.  We rented a convertible to drive the 4.5 hours to Vegas.  Stopping a long the way for a slice of cherry pie.  We stayed on the centre of the strip at the Linq Hotel, a large modern casino / hotel, this was a great base for our week in Vegas.  We spent our days shopping, swimming and having spa treatments and then in the evening we would go out for a meal and then see a show or walk the strip, there were spots for live bands and dancing.  Highlights of my trip; definitely the Helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon,  A night out in Old Vegas on Freemont Street, taking the High Roller Ferris Wheel with an open bar in our pod on the wheel, stunning views over the strip.

The Ghan - Darwin to Adelaide

I was lucky enough to get a place on an agent trip on The Ghan in March 2019, from Darwin to Adelaide.  The train is an iconic experience on many peoples bucket lists and I can see why.  My journey was an expedition trip which included day stops and included excursions in Katherine, lice Springs and Coober Pedy.  I cruised through the Katherine Gorge, biked through the outback in Alice Springs and saw kangaroo in the wild.  Then spent the day ion the infamous Coober Pedy, where the majority of the town is built underground.  The Ghan is an exceptional train.  I had a gold service cabin which mean bunk beds.  There was a 5 star lounge and dining carriage to meet other traveller's and enjoy 3 course meals.  The staff are amazing and the attention to detail is faultless.  This was the best way to see such an interesting part of Australia.

Thailand is probably my favourite destination in the whole world!  I have enjoyed several beach breaks in Koh Samui over the years drawn to the relaxing beach setting, beautiful resorts and still good shopping and activities.  In May 2018 I visited Krabi for some where new.  A beach resort town on the coast of the mainland across from Phuket. We were able to do a day trip out to James Bond Island.  The beaches were beautiful and enough shops and nightlife to keep us amused.  I made sure I fitted in a massage each day - super relaxing!
