Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

Mekong River Cruise

The only way to travel one end of the Mekong to the other is by river cruise ship! The more luxurious the better! Real locals doing real local things and a emphasis on people and culture. The big cities are great for a quick visit but sailing quietly down the river passing local villages and temples onboard your stunning ship is the way to go.

Too much to say and no space to do it. The thousands of years of history, mad traffic, donkeys in unexpected places, deserts and beaches and mountains, amazing scuba diving, cruising on the Nile, temples, ruins, King Tut's tomb and Ramses II.... and of course the Great Pyramid of Giza. So, so much to see and do and every part as jaw dropping as the next. I loved it so much I spent 5 years living there!

Caribbean Cruise

If the picture you have in your head involves white sand, palm trees, steel drums, reggae colours, Jamaican rum and flat calm purple/blue water then this is where you should go! Add on a couple of days to look around Miami (I loved it but our amazing tour guide helped make the experience FANTASTIC!). Add to that a stunning cruise ship with all your could need or want right at your door and you have a brilliant cruise destination.

River Cruising in France

The ultimate in all inclusive, unpretentious, luxury travel without robbing a bank! Cruising from Paris to Nice allows you to see 3 very different regions of France in all it's glory. Castles, chateaus, roman aqueducts, wine wine and more wine, medieval forts to Renaissance architecture, mustard, truffles, and cathedrals all from your gorgeous river cruise ship or air conditioned luxury coach. I LOVED this trip!

Western Canada and the Rocky Mountaineer

5 star guided holiday in Western Canada and the glorious, luxurious, Rocky Mountaineer train through the Rockies.

Loved, loved, loved India! A lot of misconceptions about India I found not to be true - ie: the beggars, filth etc. I guess it depends where you go but I didn't find any of that. The 'Golden Triangle' is a must do if you do nothing else. Delhi to Agra to Jaipur then back to Delhi by road/train gives you a good insight into the local culture and passes through some varying and stunning scenery along the way. You will visit all kinds of forts and palaces that will blow your mind, sleep in a palace as a guest of the local royal family, look for Tigers, learn a lot about various parts of the very detailed Indian history and of course... see the TAJ MAHAL!

You don't have to head out to the Mamanuca's to feel like you are on a tropical island! I love the south coast of the main island; the Coral Coast. Chill out and relax in your stunning resort making full use of the pools and the beach, take a 4wd safari through the local villages and meet the always smiling kids, play a bit of golf, get a massage or facial, eat and drink too much, be as busy or as relaxed as you feel like all in one place.... bliss!
