Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

London, Paris, Nice and Italy 2019

We loved Europe so much in 2018 that we went back in 2019 - this time to London, Paris, Nice and the Tuscany region in Italy. We had the most amazing weather while in London and got to see lots -loved the London Tube system! 3 nights were spent in London and this was on a Monograms independent tour (highly recommended). Our next location was Paris also with Monograms where we spent 3 nights. Paris is a new favourite of mine and probably one of the top places I have been to. We headed on the train across France to the coast and stayed 2 nights in Nice. I loved Nice, I wish we stayed for longer - it had a lovely feel to it and nice to spend some time on at the beach. Our final destination was Tuscany in Italy. Tuscany is a large region made up of many cities and towns. We visited lots of Hill Top quaint towns and loved our week driving around the countryside. Our final night was in Florence which is my favourite place in Italy.

What a dreamy destination. I feel so lucky to of been able to experience this magical destination. Think Fiji but next level. All inclusive was part of our deal - our day consisted of eat, snorkel, eat, drink, swim and eat and drink again. We stayed for 6nights and I think 5-7 nights is the ideal amount of time. We flew with Singapore Airlines and found them great!

Bali - Famil

I was lucky enough to travel to Bali in May 2019 for a week with House of Travel on a educational trip. We saw many locations in Bali including Jimbaran Bay, Sanur, Candi Dasa, Ubud, Legian and Seminyak. My favourites were Sanur and Ubud. Ubud is very cool with lots of shopping, rice fields, temples, great for yoga retreats and amazing food. Sanur has a slower pace to all the locations we visited. The beaches are calm, sand is white and I felt like I was in Fiji. Massages are so cheap everywhere (from $10 for an hour), $2 local drinks and easily able dine from $15 NZD for a meal per person. There is much more to Bali then the traditional Seminyak and Legian. I have heaps of tips for Bali - would love to book your dream trip on one of House of Travels fantastic deals.

Dubai,Greece, Italy and Croatia 2018

In May and June of 2018 my partner and I were lucky enough to go off and do our OE. We started in Dubai and loved every minute of our time here! I feel it is a destination people forget about because they often do a stop over only. We went up the Burj Khalifa and watched the city light up at night, went 4x4 wheel driving through the desert, rode a camel, held a falcon, and many other activities. I would love to go back to Dubai again!

Greece: Our favourite from the trip! After more than 8 years of wanting to go here it exceeded my expectations and more. We covered a lot of ground in Greece but my highlights were: Paros, Santorini, Olympia, Meteora Monasteries and Sailing around the Ionian Islands. Greece has the most beautiful scenery, amazing food and the people are so friendly. We also found Greece really cheap! I would go back to Greece in a heartbeat!

Italy: Italy has amazing history and scenery. We were lucky enough to cover off most of Italy. My highlights were Venice (everything about it) , Rome, Florence and the Amalfi Coast (including Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius). We aren't big history buffs but Italy truly has some of the most amazing historic architecture I ever seen. I loved how one place was so different from the last - you almost felt like you were in a different country.

Loved Croatia!! Again we covered a lot of ground here. We started in Dubrovnik and caught a ferry to Split from here where we picked up our rental car. If doing independent travel I would strongly recommend hiring a rental car as it is cheap and convenient. We even ended up in Bosnia for a day with our rental car. My highlights were Dubrovnik, Krka National Park, Trogir and Pula. Croatia is very affordable and has beautiful people and scenery. Another favourite that I would gladly revisit.

8 nights in Vanuatu was a perfect amount of time for what we needed. My partner and I spent 4 nights just out of Port Vila - beautiful beach with snorkeling and our own little plunge pool with our accommodation. We then spent our final 4 nights in Santo which was a highlight of our trip. So many lush gardens, a really raw and authentic island (feels like your back in time as it isnt heavily developed) and loved the blue holes.

My favourite destination. I have been lucky enough to go back to Fiji many times. I love the scenery, the people and the food. Such a relaxing break away. My favourite resort is Musket Cove however I would love to explore the upper Yasawa islands and Taveuni. Fiji holds a special place in my heart that will never be replaced - my family and I have some lifetime friends we have met on our Fiji travels. I love snorkeling and diving in Fiji - a must do! Island hopping is a great day trip option that I enjoy as it is a great way to experience another resort or two for the day. You really get into the Fiji-Time way of life when you are there and totally unwind. A perfect R&R destination.

Australia 2017

In April 2017 my partner and I visited the beautiful Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) in Australia. We had a great view of the city and beach from our hotel room and were only a few minutes stroll to the beach. We loved the fact that the Gold Coast isn't a big flight from NZ, there is a cool beach vibe and everything is very accessible.
We had previously on other holidays been to the theme parks so didn't go again however Movie World, Sea World and Whitewater World are my favourites.

There is plenty of things to do at Surfers Paradise! I love going to the local markets and the night markets along the beach and not to mention all the amazing shopping! My favourite places to shop are Ashmore and Harbour Town Outlet Shops and if you are looking for shopping mixed with music and good food then be sure to check out Night Quarter Markets by Helensvale.
