Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

Working Holiday in Canada for 1 Year

In 2011, I started a journey with my family to live in Calgary for 1 year.  I worked on a working holiday visa for around 10 months, with taking 2 months to travel through Alberta, British Columbia and the USA.
I was able to take advantage of a very long winter season, with many trips through the Rockies from Calgary to Vancouver experiencing the mountains, frozen lakes and wildlife.  In the Summer, we would blow up a raft and float down the Calgary river and just take in all the opportunities on our doorstep.
This was a year of my life that I loved, spending time with family and exploring this beautiful country.

Dubai Educational Trip

Dubai really took my breath away, it is an incredible city.
A chance to explore the old and the new Dubai, it will blow your mind.
A highlight for me was our Half Day Old City Tour where we got to step back in time and stroll through the Old Souks.  We walked through the Gold Souks, Spice Souks and the Textile Souks which were full of life.  We had lunch at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. This was a very unique experience and one I would highly recommend if you would like to learn more about Islamic religion and culture.
Another highlight was our evening on the Sundowner Safari we got to experience the desert at its finest.  We enjoyed first hand 4x4 driving over the dunes, falconry show, henna painting, amazing food and the best belly dancing performance I have ever seen.
We enjoyed many other attractions like the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis at the Palms Aquaventure Water Park & the Lost Chamber, Dubai Mall,  Ski Dubai and a Cultural Dinner and Show at Bab Al Shams.

P & O Cruise - Vanuatu Adventure

I visited Champagne Bay which is situated on the east coast of Vanuatu’s largest island, Espiritu Santo.  The island has been inhabited for many years by Melanesian people.  A fresh water spring flows into the lagoon, which allows you to experience a spa-like bubbling sensation at low tide.
Next stop was Pentecost Island, which has to be one of the most mysterious and evocative islands in the Pacific.  This is where you can watch boys jump into manhood, with vine jumping.
Third stop was Port Vila which is the trading centre and capital of Vanuatu.

Ladies Trip to Rarotonga

This holiday was aimed for rest & relaxation.
We stayed at the beautiful Nautilus Resort for 5 nights located in Muri Beach.
I had no expectations when heading to Rarotonga, however I loved the chilled out lifestyle and respect the local people have for their culture.
We added two activities to our trip that are a must, the Te Vara Nui Cutural Show and Dinner and Koka Lagoon Cruises.  As Rarotonga is becoming a popular destination for kiwis, these activities book up quickly so would look to organise before leaving home so you do not miss out.
