WHO AM I?
How did my story in travel begin: As a child it was cutting out maps and dreaming of all the places I would visit one day? Contiki Tours started me on my life’s profession as a travel agent. I was 21, stuck in a dead-end job, and wanted a change. A friend said Contiki. Contiki what? Contiki who? Contiki where? Contiki when? In just over a year I’d completed a 28-day Contiki tour across America followed by six weeks in Europe. The travel bug had now consumed me. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I loved it so much that I decided then and there to pursue a career in travel. I enrolled on an 18-month travel consultancy course at UCOL, topped my class and was appointed to House of Travel Group in 2001. On Monday 15th October 2018 I joined the team at House of Travel on Broadway. In my time at House of Travel I have earned my place as one top 20 consultants for the House of Travel Group. In short, I’m determined, driven, an absolute perfectionist and passionate about travel. It’s these qualities I bring when arranging your travel.
I love my job: I love working in travel because I feel I can achieve great things for my valued clients as well as myself! I love the challenge, things aren’t always as they seem so finding a travel solution that exceeds my client’s expectations can be very rewarding. Through working for House of Travel I have experienced many destinations I may not normally have visited. You never know when that next opportunity will arise & boy is it exciting when it does. There are so many things I love about the job but one of my favourite parts is completing the final travel documents & presenting to the client. To me this is the icing on the cake. I take great pride in adding in my little touches to the client’s travel itinerary, thinking about what they will be doing each day & living the holiday with them. The best part is when I hear from a client on their return unprompted to tell me about their trip, take the time to show me photos, refer friend to me or send me a quick picture while on holiday. Being acknowledged & appreciated for job well done warms my heart. At House of Travel we do get some amazing training from the best in the industry & clear vision as where we are heading as a company. We are more than just a team at House of Travel, we are one big family whom genuinely cares about its clients.
I’m a traveler too: I’ve lost count of all the destinations I’ve visited over the past 22 years. I’ve travelled throughout the USA, Europe, UK, Ireland, Asia, the South Pacific and, of course, Australia. My most recent trips were staying at a 5 Star resort in Mauritius & then having the absolute thrill of driving a Go-Kart through the streets of Tokyo.
