Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

European River Cruise

In November 2014 I travelled with my husband to do a Scenic tours river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam then spent 3 days in Prague at the end of the trip.  This was an amazing trip and a great way to see the smaller towns of Europe.  I loved cruising the Danube, Main and Rhine Rivers with the Rhine Gorge being a highlight. Scenic Tours was an wonderful company to travel with and the whole trip with them was so well organised and very relaxing.

China Family Holiday - October, 2011

Visited – Xian, Pingyao, Luoyang, Badaling, Beijing
Wonderful family holiday with my parents, Brother, Sister and their families.  11 of us travelling round China – 3 being children 5 and under.  Two overnight trains , many crazy bus trips and taxi drivers and heaps of amazing experiences that you could not get anywhere but China!

If you are looking for a stopover when travelling through Hong Kong I would thoroughly recommend Macau.  Two years ago I spent 4 days here checking out this wonderful island.  Many people associate Macau with Gambling and yes it does have a lot of gambling and all the glitz that comes with that, but there is also a lot more to Macau than that.  Macau has a wondering interesting history which is evident in the old town which is a UNESCO world heritage site.  I really enjoyed wandering around this area which is a wonderful mix of Asian and Portuguese cultures. The food in Macau is to die for and you can find many restaurants that specialise in Macanese cuisine which is a combination of Portuguese, Indian and even Malay and Chinese cuisines which cannot be found elsewhere in the world and no trip to Macau would be complete without trying Portuguese egg tarts.

5 years ago I was lucky enough to travel around Namibia with Karibu's on their Classic Safari. I thought Etosha and the animals there would be the highlight of the trip, but I was wrong. Karibu's carefully planned itinerary showed me so much more of this amazing country.  We travelled from Windhoek up to Etosha and then down to Damaraland were we visited a local HImba village then onto the Namib Desert and Sossusvlei to see the sand dunes which was worth getting up at the crack of dawn for.   From the wonderful, knowledgeable guide staff, the superb food and the delightful comfortable camping experience it all was excellent and I would highly recommend touring with Karibu on one of their wonderful itineraries.
