Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

France Avalon River Cruise August 2016

In August my mum and I took off to Paris to experience our first ever River Cruise!
After exploring Paris for a couple of days we boarded the stunning Avalon Poetry II ship which took us on a journey through Burgundy & Provence ending in Cannes.
What a wonderful and relaxing way to take in the amazing scenery of vineyards, chateaus & sample the glorious french food and wines!

Bali Honeymoon- March 2019

As Bali was the first holiday my husband and I took together, it seemed the obvious place to go back to celebrate our Honeymoon! We explored a few different areas this time- First being in Sanur which was nice and quiet, then out to Nusa Lembongan Island to snorkel and explore. Finishing up in my favourite- Seminyak- where we shopped, had massages and sunset drinks on the beach!

East Africa 2014

The most incredible destination I have ever been too!
I was EXTREMELY lucky to visit Kenya & Tanzania in May 2014. It really is hard to put into words what Africa is really like..
Visiting Ngorongoro Crater was one of the highlights for me due to the vast landscape- driving down into the crater you could have been in a NZ forest, but then we were surprised by our first sighting of lions strolling along the road in front of us!
Once we were down in the crater there were wide open plains, and then we go over a rise and it’s a field of beautiful yellow flowers- amazing.
I feel we had the best game viewing here- getting very close to the pride of lions and spotting our only Rhinos- very lucky!
I did manage to see all of the Big 5 animals :)

May 2013- Hawaii & Vegas

Having never been to Hawaii before I was really excited about exploring the island and it didn’t disappoint!

It has everything I love in a holiday. Beautiful beaches, great food, swimming & relaxing yet amazing shopping and adventure.

I then took a side trip to the bright lights and sounds of Las Vegas! Always fun in Vegas- so much going on and always changing. There is lots to see and do with all the different themes of the casino hotels. Also the gateway to the Grand Canyon, this is a must when you are so close to this natural wonder. Vegas outlet shopping is something not to be missed!

Vietnam - July 2011

I was lucky enough to take part in a trip to Vietnam, which took me from the North to South. We started this trip in the face paced traditional city of Hanoi which is also the gate way to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We did a overnight cruise out to Halong Bay on a traditional Junk Boat which took in all the amazing sites and gave us the night to take in the beauty of the sun setting on the bay.

From here we flew down to Hoi An which was my favourite place in Vietnam- Here you have the historical small cobbled streets which are lined with amazing restaurants and tailors galore! This is the place to get all things made. Whilst they are being made, take time out and relax on China Beach which is a beautiful white sand beach on the Fringe of Hoi An.

Then we flew onto our final destination, Saigon. It is probably the most westernized place we visited in Vietnam. From here you have easy access to the Mekong Delta and this is where you will also visit the Chu Chi tunnels. The Chu Chi tunnel was an amazing insight into the clever Vietnamese during the war. It is usually about an hour’s drive from Saigon but this depends on traffic. Here you also have the chance to fire a machine gun! The Mekong Delta was a good day out also, where you travel to the river and board a boat which takes you across to an island to taste and learn about all the local fruit and food. Here you also get to see how they make coconut candy and if your game- Try snake wine!

USA - June 2010

Visited: Washington DC, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, Anaheim & Santa Monica.
I spent 3 months in America in 2010, 2 months of which I participated in the Camp America programme, then spent 1 month travelling around. What an amazing experience. New York was always a dream destination for me. To be in the middle of the bright lights & fast pace of times square really was a dream come true
