Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

What an amazing place on this earth. I loved seeing the wildlife up close. We swam with seals, stingrays, sharks and the most beautiful fish I have ever seen. The Galapagos Tortoises are massive animals and roam freely on the island. Definitely worth a visit.

One of my favourite places in the world is Machu Picchu – it’s just breath taking and such a spiritual place. You need to spend most of the day there to watch how the mood changes as the wind blows the clouds around this very special place.  I loved the little town of Cuzco it has so much charm. We stayed in an Eco friendly camp in the Amazon and the food for 3 days was a mixture of roots and leaves from the forest and a little bit of meat, didn’t ask what that was just incase…!!!   Must say it was all so yummy.  Do make  sure you put this destination on your bucket list.

Being African born, the safari parks are part of my life. Our family holidays were touring around South Africa. The beaches on the South Coast of Durban were always a popular spot. The sea was always warm and inviting, the sand white and clean. Cape Town is a stunning place to visit too. The Vineyards cater well for tourists and the wine is always good and cheap. Botswana is a great place to see all kinds of game, but there are no Rhinos here. You will see Leopards, Lions and Cheetahs as these are territorial animals, and the rangers and trackers know just where they hide out. There are hundreds of Hippos (my favourite) along with Crocs, Elephants etc. etc. The camp sites are stunning and you get the real Africa experience with the sounds of the animals at night as you snuggle in your lovely soft bed, lovely linen, duvets and with flushing toilets… Call me a princess!!

Most recent trips

Philippines, The Rockies and the Inside passage , Galapagos, Africa, Sunshine coast and Adelaide and the Barossa Valley.

I have just been to visit my son for a week, he lives in Dubai. What an amazing city. I lived in Muscat Oman 30 yrs ago and Dubai was just a desert. The amount of development that has gone on is mind blowing. Loved the hop on and off bus around Dubai. You see so much of the city in an Air conditioned bus. Well worth spending a few days here on your way to Europe.
From Dubai I flew to Durban in South Africa for family time. Went to the lovely Game Park of Pilansberg which is North of Johannesburg. If you want a quick bush fix, this is a very good options without having to go to Kruger Park. Please contact me if you would like more information.

I really enjoyed visiting Japan. Love the people and the culture.  Tokyo is a very busy city, a city that never sleeps.  Kyoto was a highlight, but my favourite city was Hiroshima. The Peace Museum was so emotional and very moving.
The food was amazing, and the shops an eye opener.
A place to put on your bucket list.

Christmas in Europe

Europe certainly knows how to do Christmas. The festive lights in Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Sweden were breath taking. Yes, it was cold outside but with Merino, good warm jackets and snow, it was a magical experience.
