Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

This year I recently visited French Polynesia on an educational trip for work. What I loved about Tahiti was the dreamy mix of French and Polynesian Cultures providing heaven on earth. The postcards don't lie, turquoise lagoons and moss-green peaks await you around every corner, each offering it's own unique reasons to visit!

New York

NEW YORK NEW YORK - Christmas and New Year!!!
I spent a month in the USA after not visiting for many years and New York was a tick the bucket list desintation for me, plus I got to spend Chrstimas and New Year in the city that never sleeps and see it lit up all pretty. I split my 11 night stay between mid-town West and East and loved staying in this area. Spending Christmas Day taking a homeless local Joe to an authentic Diner for pancakes was a highlight. Coming home I knew New York and I had unfinished business!
I stopped in Hawaii both ways,as it's a desintation I love and I even managed to fit in DisneyWorld Orlando and a Caribbean Cruise (I used to work on Disney Cruise Ships based out of here, so it was nice to reminisce).

Travelling Solo

90% of my travelling experiences have all been going solo! Daunting it may sound, but I believe the best travel companion you can have is yourself. Even though you may not get to share the experiences on the road with someone else, which sometimes can be lonely, you get valuable alone time and become the master of your own itinerary. You certainly make lots of new friends whether it be local or fellow travellers. My tip always learn the basic in the local tongue.

Food Glorious Food

Thats what travel is all about isn't it? Cultural immersion is an important part of inclusive! When I travel I love eating my way around the destination. I always ensure I am eating local or walking down the back lanes, so I get the AUTHENTIC experience, not the TOURIST prices in english. I love that first taste, when all your senses come alive trying something foreign and new.

Adventure Travel

You will usually find me laying on a pristine deserted beach for 7 days or immersing myself in a desitation by experiencing the wildlife or meeting the locals. I love that House of Travel has pledged to work with World Animal Protection to find ways to provide responsible, animal-friendly tourism options. A value that sits very strong with me.

I had  the privilege of getting up close and personal experiencing some amazing memories, such as swimming with Hump Back Whales in Tonga, Diving with Tigers Sharks in Fiji and visiting The Orangutans in Borneo.
