Where I've Been

Favourite Holidays

This is one trip I will always remember, it was my first trip to South East Asia and wow what an eye opener! The sights, smells and people were all amazing to see and be amongst. One of the most sobering moments was visiting the Killing Fields in Phnom Penh, however I am glad I went and saw for my own eyes some of the extent of what happened not so many years ago

Tropical North Queensland

This is a beautiful destination to explore. We based ourselves in Port Douglas and ventured out daily from here as nothing is ever too far away. Highlights of this area of course #1 is the Great Barrier Reef, if you haven’t done this put it on your bucket list to do, whilst out at the reef jump on a 5 – 10 minute  helicopter ride as this will give you a whole different perspective of the size of the reef – plus some amazing photographs. To see some amazing scenery – cool lush greenery and exotic wildlife visit Cape Tribulation National Park and the Daintree Forest National Park! Why not even try out whitewater rafting, this was a first for me and definitely not as intimidating as our NZ rivers, plus the bonus if you happen to fall out the water is warm!

What a fabulous way to holiday. Unpack once, all your main meals and entertainment included just save some money for drinks and duty free shopping onboard. One thing I look forward to on these cruises are the “BINGO” days they have when you are at Sea, don’t laugh if you go on one I can guarantee you will give it a go. If that’s not your thing why not visit one of the many lounges on board, take a book or listen to live music. The kids are taken care of with their own entertainment areas which are “Adult Free” – great holiday for all!
