Favourite Holidays

Why Me

I make travel refreshingly simple in a world of information overload. I'm absolutely focused on my clients' needs and wants, and fascinated by the myriad of wonders on our beautiful planet, just waiting to be thoughtfully explored. It's a match made in heaven.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
When our clients tell us that their trip was just as they dreamed it would be. For business customers, it’s when they tell us, “Everything ran like clockwork.”

What surprises clients about working with you?
That we’re actually more competitive than just booking it yourself online. And that we add real value, like tips to help you save more money.
What is your favourite service offered by House of Travel Milford?

Guided tours to Antarctica, and African safaris. (My favourite animal is the pangolin!) I like that we can help with less-touristy places too, such as Costa Rica or Macedonia.
Where in the world is your favourite destination?
The Austrian Alps, off-track in the South Tyrol. You can ski in winter, walk in winter, and enjoy the beauty of Europe while avoiding the crowds.

What’s your favourite meal, and where?
Street food from a Zanzibar night market.
What two items do you always take on holiday with you?
Ear plug and eye shades, and comfy walking shoes.

What’s your top “travel insider” tip?
Take a soft back-pack, because you can use it as a footrest on the
plane, and a small towel, so that you can take advantage of a hot shower at the
E-mail yourself copies of all your travel docs on Gmail or Hotmail... just in case.

Barging in France

Sipping French Rose, going to fresh food markets, visiting the local sights, sounds and smells of the South of France. Escaping the crowds, busses and traffic jams, yet visiting fresh food markets, cycling and walking along the canal has to be top of my list of things that I have been lucky enough to experience. Relaxingly chugging along the canals of southern France for 12 nights on board a Penichette has to be one of my top 5 holidays that I have been lucky enough to experience. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys active relaxing holidays.

Christmas In the Snow

New Years in Ellmau, Tyrol, Austria with Glühwein, Champagne and Schnapps has to be on my list of most memorable festive seasons ever experienced. The fragrant smells of cloves and cinnamon, the German “Pfefferkuchen” and the lovely history in Austria is hard to beat. I love the idea of putting champagne on ice – see photo.

African Safaris

There is something about the sound and smell of the African bush, that cannot be comprehended, unless you have experienced an African Safari.
Having travelled extensively through Namibia, Botsana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania, I have to admit that Africa has a very special place in my heart.

South America 2018

I never thought I would Love South America the way I did... the place is magical. From the colours of Buenos Aires to the magnificent Iguacu Falls... I was very impressed with both, the Argentinian side of the falls as well as the Brazilian side.
