Thanks for visiting Chris Edwards - Personal Travel Managers page!

Planning a holiday is fun but organising it can be time consuming and confusing. It's my job as a Personal Travel Manager to make it easy for you. I'll take care of all the details so can relax and enjoy yourself!

I’ve worked with House of Travel as a Travel Professional for 18 years.  Firstly in Remuera, and then for 12 years leading the team as Owner/Operator at HOT Mission Bay. I’ve travelled extensively (most recently to Norway to experience the Northern lights) and I enjoy creating & designing itineraries in collaboration with my clients.

I work primarily from my home office, but have a desk 2 days a week at House of Travel Ellerslie, where I can meet you for an appointment.  I’m also happy to meet you where & when it suits you (your home, office or favourite cafe) to discuss your travel and holiday requirements. My hours are very flexible, so we can always find a time or place to suit.

Whether it’s a self-drive itinerary thru France, rail thru Canada, a tour in China, a Caribbean cruise, an island getaway in the Pacific,or even just a weekend of retail therapy in Melbourne, let me take the hassle out of it for you & use my expertise to create lasting memories.

"20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did.  So throw off the bowlines... Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

Chris Edwards - Specialties

  • "Thank-you so much for organising such an amazing trip. Everything went like clockwork. No dramas, just all ran so easily and smoothly and totally thanks to your detailed organising for us. All our accommodation was brilliant. Very comfortable and very central and great service. All your other recommendations in  Spain, Munich and Prague were brilliant. Loved the Romantic Rd and the castles. Loved Cinque Terre and managed to get to Portofino too. We loved everything and have definitely got the travel bug now. We will be recommending you to all our friends!"

    ~ Rae and Mike

  • "Switzerland was just magical!!! The trains, accommodation etc all went without a hitch thanks to your organisation and great maps, advice etc..."

    ~ Christine & Jeff

  • "The Rocky Mountaineer would have to be the best thing we have ever done hands down.
If anyone is thinking about going - only go Gold Leaf. It is worth it ten times over, you are treated like royalty. Food fantastic but you see so much more!"

    ~ Barbara & Cliff

  • "What can I say?!  Our holiday far exceeded our expectations.

There is no doubt in our mind that all your effort, experience and recommendations contributed HUGELY.

We had the best holiday ever and are singing your praises to friends and family!!!"

  • "We are having the time of our lives on this holiday. Our two bus tours were fantastic, We have had no trouble with the self-drive either. Found the farm my ancestors came from in Denmark!
We are enjoying our stays at each location, and regret having to leave every time wishing we had another day or two to spare!
Top marks to you for the location of our hotels in Barcelona, Carcassonne and Bordeaux. 11/10. We couldn’t have wanted for anything better."

    ~ Mike & Lorraine

Tailor-made itineraries designed for your specific requirements

Allow me to tailor an itinerary to fit your aspirations, schedule and budget.

Combining any number of options including The Rocky Mountaineer, Via Rail, self-drive, day tours, lodges, wilderness retreats, small ship or large ship cruising.

Seen an itinerary you like, but wish it had more time in Jasper or Lake Louise?  Keen to keep the accommodation costs down, but treat yourself to something special in a couple of key places?

I’d be delighted to customise arrangements to match your needs, & will suggest ways to save money compared to most pre-packaged itineraries

Relax as you travel. Unpack only once.

Cruising is the fastest growing area of the tourism market and now offers so many different styles that it can be confusing sorting out which option will be best for you.

As a certified  cruise expert I can help you find the best fit and the best value.

Some of the ships I have cruised on include:
Avalon Waterways - Danube Main Moselle & Rhine – Budapest - Amsterdam

Captain Cook Cruises - Queensland – featuring Gt Barrier Reef

Celebrity Cruises - Mexican Riviera

Cunard – Trans-Tasman- NZ & Australia

Hurtigruten – Norwegian Coastal voyage

Nile River Cruise -  Luxor - Aswan

As well as sailing on all of the above, I’ve been on-board most cruiseships that have come to Auckland and carried out a full inspection of their facilities,

Including : Holland America, Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Oceania, P& O, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean,  Seabourne, Silverseas , Windstar

I love America !  Friendliest people anywhere & so many wonderful states to explore.

The cities are filled with wonderful architecture and the icons of pop culture you’ve seen in Movies & TV.

But away from the cities is the real magic! Stunning National parks & roadside scenery that helps you understand America’s love affair with the automobile.

I've got to get back there, as I’ve only scratched the surface !

Places I've been:

Arizona: Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, Sedona, Route 66, Tucson, Tombstone

California: Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Diego, San Francisco, Driven Pacific Coast Highway

Colorado: Telluride, San Juan Skyway

Hawaii: Honolulu, Waikiki, Maui, Big Island

Nevada: Las Vegas, Hoover Dam

New Mexico: Albuquerque, Roswell, Carlsbad Caverns, Route 66

Utah: Zion Nat. Park, Bryce Canyon, Arches Nat. Park, Monument Valley
