Day 1: Basel via Bern - Interlaken
Enjoy a magnificent journey between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz with stunning views of the Alps. Overnight in Interlaken.
Day 2: Interlaken - Excursion to Jungfraujoch
Top of Europe round trip to experience an ice wonderland accessed through the highest altitude railway station in Europe.
Day 3: Interlaken – Montreux
Journey with the Golden Pass Line through the scenic Simme Valley to Montreux on Lake Geneva, with alpine forests, bubbling mountain springs and mountain villages. Be sure to visit Chillon Castle. Overnight in Montreux.
Day 4: Montreux – Zermatt
Travel to the famous car-free alpine resort, Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn. Take an optional excursion to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 5: Zermatt
Enjoy the day exploring Zermatt and its surroundings. You could travel on the Gornergrat, one of Europe’s highest open-air cog railways where you will have panoramic views of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and snow-capped peaks. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 6: Zermatt – St Moritz
This legendary stretch includes a ride on the Glacier Express on a 7 1/2 hour rail journey. You travel in comfort through unspoilt natural beauty. Overnight in St Moritz.
Day 7: St Moritz
Explore this alpine village for the day where you can enjoy traditional hiking, mountain biking or a visit to Mt Diavolezza. Overnight in St Moritz.
Day 8: St Moritz – Lugano
Two routes lead to Lugano in Switzerland's sunny south. In summer, choose the Bernina Express train to Tirano, this Alpine switchback ride takes you from the high towering glaciers down to the swaying palms of Italy on the highest railway line across the Alps, then bus to overnight in Lugano.
Day 9: Lugano – Lucerne
Few things will take your breath away like the newly opened 57km tunnel Gotthard Panorama Express. Combining rail and waterway travel, this 5 hour trip starts with scenic rail before connecting to a spectacular 2.5 hour Lake Lucerne steamer boat ride. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 10: Lucerne
Choose from a few of optional excursions: Mt Pilatus, Mt Rigi or Mt Titlus. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 11: Lucerne - transfer to any Swiss airport or bordertown
The Gotthard Panorama Express operates Tuesday - Sunday from 18 Apr-18 Oct 2020. The Gotthard Panorama Express does not operate on Mondays due to train maintenance. Alternate transport can be taken when the Gotthard Panorama Express isn't operating.
The Glacier Express and Bernina Express are seasonal.
