Rated as one of the best kayaking tours in the country, this 3 hour tour encapsulates the magic of sea kayaking amongst the breathtaking natural scenery. Paddle through sea caves, interact with the local marine life and discover the thrill of kayak sailing with the wind on your back. A must-do when in the Coromandel is the Glass Bottom Boat. Join a 2-hour tour to explore Cathedral Cove and the marine reserve. Take in the stunning coastline including sea caves, volcanic rock formations and pinnacles, then look down and view all the marine life in and around the reserve. This is the only tour to explore the marine reserve above and below the surface. Though the glass spot many different species of fish, stingrays, crayfish and more. On the surface look out for sea birds, penguins and seals, plus dolphins and orca. Sit back and watch the marine life through the glass or take the plunge and swim amongst the fish with equipment provided. Crew provide a fun and factual commentary of the geology and history of the area.

Departs from Whitianga

Climb aboard for a captivating 1-hour railway journey and be inspired by the story of one man’s lifetime passion to bring Art, Conservation and Engineering together to create Driving Creek. Your train driver will entertain you with the story of Barry Brickell and how this amazing place came to be, as your tram winds its way up to the EyeFull Tower lookout, traveling through a native forest of regenerating kauri, rimu and ferns. Travel over large viaducts, through tunnels and reversing points, on this narrow-gauged mountain railway. This is much more than a railway journey. Suitable for all ages. An all-weather activity.
