From this vantage point, we’ll get our first glimpse of Doubtful Sound before arriving at Deep Cove to board the Fiordland Navigator, our home for the next two nights. Designed along the lines of a traditional scow, the Navigator blends old world charm with modern comforts that include spacious viewing decks, a dining saloon with fully-licensed bar and an observation lounge. During our time on the vessel, we’ll cruise the full-length of the fiord all the way to the Tasman Sea. We’ll enjoy the stunning scenery of dense rainforest, steep cliff-faces and the amazing marine life that inhabits these waters. Dinner is served onboard this evening with the boat anchored in a sheltered cove for our first overnight stay – hear the total ‘Sound of Silence’ when the boat’s engines are switched off.
