Escape the city and explore leshan with its natural landscape and wealth of cultural relics. Home to the Leshan Giant Buddha, an enormous 70 metre high sitting Buddha, it is the tallest stone Buddha statue in the world. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage-Site, work on the Buddha begun in the year 713 in the Tang Dynasty, with the statue taking people more than 90 years to carve.
