Traverse through Botswana with hassle free fully serviced camping. Along the way you get to experience game viewing in the wild Moremi game reserve, mokoro excursions and bush walks in the Okavango delta as well as wild animals and breath-taking sunsets on the Chobe River and Makgadigadi Pans. Make your way to ‘the smoke that thunders’ to witness the majestic Victoria Falls and end this classic African adventure with the wild game of the Tuli Wilderness area on the banks of the Limpopo River.

Day 1: Johannesburg – Palapye Botswana
The tour starts at 8am with departure from Johannesburg. Travelling through the province of Limpopo you cross the border into Botswana where camp is set up at Khama Rhino Sanctuary. (LD)

Day 2: Maun
This morning there is an option to do a 2 hour early morning game drive in Khama Rhino Sanctuary. You then travel along the western edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans arriving in Maun late afternoon. The evening is spent relaxing around the campfire and preparing for your 4×4 excursion into Moremi Wildlife Reserve the next day. (BLD)

Day 3-4: Khwai Area of Moremi Wildlife Reserve
An early start takes the group 2 hours to Maun – the gateway to the Delta and Moremi Wildlife Reserve. You change vehicles to an open sided 4×4 safari vehicle getting to Moremi by lunchtime. After lunch, you enter the south gate of the park and travel to the Khwai area. This is a pure wilderness area of great beauty, with rich green vegetation, palm trees, teeming with birdlife and a vast population of wild animals. You enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives exploring the reserve in open 4×4 safari vehicles.  Our private campsite is located inside the park where we set up bush toilets and bush showers. Day 5: Maun
After an early morning game drive you exit Moremi and travel back to Maun. The afternoon is free and there’s an option for a 1 hour scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expense). (BLD)

Day 6: Okavango Delta - Maun
Today you take a mokoro excursion into the Okavango Delta. Depart Maun at 7:30am and road transfer approximately 1 -2 hours depending on water levels. Upon arrival at the mokoro boat station, a mokoro poler will be introduced to you and will be your boatman and guide throughout the excursion which also has a nature game walk. Mid-afternoon road transfer back to Maun. (BLD)

Day 7-8: Chobe River – Kasane
You continue through Botswana to Kasane and camp is set up on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. The following day sunset is enjoyed on a relaxing game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. You can also take an optional morning game drive in the Chobe National Park (own expense). (BLD)

Day 9-10: Victoria Falls
Today you cross into Zimbabwe to view Victoria Falls – one of the most spectacular sights in Africa. A break from camping, you check into your hotel for two nights and your days are at leisure to browse the local markets and to experience some of the many optional activities on offer. As well as adrenalin fuelled activities there are leisurely sunset boat cruises, helicopter flights over the Falls and of course walking a trail to visit the awe-inspiring Falls (all optional activities own expense). Day 11: Makgadikgadi Pans
Crossing back into Botswana, camp is set up at Nata. You visit the Makgadikgadi Pans for a truly unforgettable sunset over what remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake. (BLD)

Day 12-13: Tuli Wilderness Camp
Traveling South you travel to the Tuli area of Botswana. It is a great wild game area that is unfenced to preserve natural migratory patterns. You camp on the banks of the Limpopo River which forms the border to South Africa.  Day 13 you enjoy a guided morning game walk and also a late afternoon game drive. (BLD)

Day 14: Johannesburg
You exit Botswana and travel back to Johannesburg. Tour ends around 4pm with a drop off at Peermont Metcourt or ORT International Airport. (BL)
