South of Sydney you’ll find uncrowded beaches, cliff-hugging rainforests, blowholes and breathtaking coastal roads (watch for migrating whales June – Nov!).  Then there are the waterside bars, restaurants and wineries along the way.  Then relax and soak it all in from your Deluxe Safari Tent and chef selection meals.  This is the perfect self-drive getaway.

ITINERARY 

DAY 1: Sydney to Cape Jervis
After you have collected your vehicle, head south out of the city along the Princes Highway to the gem of the southern NSW coastline, Jervis Bay. Your accommodation for the next two night is in African safari inspired tent set amongst rugged wilderness allowing you to get close to nature without sacrificing on comfort.

DAY 2: At Cape Jervis
At Leisure today, with famous white-sand beaches and clear turquoise waters these are amongst the safest and most beautiful in the world. The area is teeming with native Australian marine and wildlife, and you can see dolphins, whales, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats, many rare bird and animal species in the wild. There are a variety of bays and ocean beaches, lagoons and secret coves, that are perfect for swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, stand-up paddle boarding and surfing. The area boasts world-class cafes, restaurants, pubs, wine bars and a burgeoning music scene.

DAY 3: Cape Jervis to Batemans Bay
Drive past pristine lakes, estuaries, sparkling rivers, and beautiful beaches stretching out along kilometres of Pacific Ocean shoreline before reaching the beachside town Batemans Bay, the heart of Australia’s Oyster Coast. Spend the day surfing the crystal-clear waters or cycle along the Batemans Bay cycle way and finish up enjoy some fresh local seafood on a waterfront eatery.

DAY 4: Batemans Bay to Canberra
Heading inland today long the Kings highway passing through farmlands, forests, and mountain ranges before meeting the Australian Capital territory. Along the way make a stop at Braidwood, a historic treasure brimming with amazing colonial buildings, antiques, cafes and bakeries.

DAY 5: Canberra
Canberra, a laid-back city with many gorgeous sites, trendy bars and surrounded by national parks. There is much to offer from digging into the Australian history at the Australian War Museum and National Museum of Australian, wandering the corridors of the old & new parliament houses, Hike one of the many trails and uncover waterfalls, gorges, and river, to hire a boat and sitting back and relax as Canberra unveils itself as you sip on a glass of shiraz.

DAY 6: Canberra to Sydney
On your journey back to Sydney, stop for that icon photo opportunity with the ‘world’s biggest Merino’ located just outside Goulburn.  Your holiday has come to an end once you arrive in Sydney and drop off your rental car.
