Itinerary
DAY 1
Transfer from Hobart airport to the city and check-in to lovely central Old Woolstore. Put on your walking shoes and explore Hobart’s waterfront.
DAY 2
Leave from Hobart’s waterfront for a full day tour out on the Tasman Peninsula, including return guided bus tour, morning tea, lunch and the award-winning Wilderness Cruise.
DAY 3
Take the day to leisurely explore Hobart, perhaps take the Mona Roma Ferry upriver to the Museum of Old and New Art. Fares not included in this package, but it’s well worth a visit to open your mind to some very unusual art pieces in this huge private museum consisting of 3 levels of underground galleries.
DAY 4
Join Tours around Tasmania for a day tour through the Huon Valley to Tahune Airwalk. The Huon Valley was initially famous for apple orchards but even more so now as a region to enjoy local ciders and pinot noir wine.
DAY 5
Taste your way across Bruny Island on this land based gourmet day tour with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. You’ll enjoy private cheese and beer tasting experience at Bruny Island Cheese Company, Bruny Island Chocolate Company, Bruny Island Honey, Hartzview Mead and lunch at Pennicott’s Restaurant at Adventure Bay. Plus a tasting of Get Shucked Oysters and two glasses of your choice of beer, wine or cider.
DAY 6
Put on your walking shoes and wander through Salamanca’s cobbled alleyways, pass the historic docks and the sandstone warehouses built by the convicts, climb the steps to Battery Point to see the cute colonial cottages. Finish up at the Cascade Brewery for a cool pint.
DAY 7
Last full day in Hobart you’ll join Gray Line Tour Company for a day trip to Mt Field National Park, Russell Falls and get up close and personal with Tasmania’s local wildlife at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
