Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Buenos Aires

Arrive Buenos Aires. A driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel.

Day 2: Buenos Aires City Tour and Evening Dinner & Tango Show

Today you will enjoy a private city tour taking you to San Telmo a hip district with cobble stone streets and a colonial past, colourful and artsy La Boca and the swanky regenerated area of Puerto Madero. As well as visiting the impressive Plaza San Martín, a stroll down Avenida Alvear, and the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, one of the city’s oldest churches. You will also visit Recoleta Cemetery, the resting place of Eva Peron – Evita. Tonight enjoy an evening dinner & tango Show at Esquina Carlos Gardel – named after the most famous tango singer. (B, D)

Day 3: Buenos Aires at leisure until evening dinner experience!

Day at leisure to enjoy the city on your own to do some shopping or take in an extra activity.

You could join a small group tour for a day in the Pampas, visiting an Estancia for a traditional BBQ and to see some gaucho skills (extra cost).

Tonight you will be taken to the Argentine Experience – foodie heaven, a really fun dining and cuisine experience where you get to make your own empanadas, taste some of Argentina’s juiciest steaks and try your hand at delectable alfajores. (B, D)

Day 4: Mataderos & San Telmo Markets (Only available on Sundays)

A great local experience accompanied by your private guide. In the morning visit the San Telmo antique market filled with hundreds of stalls and where music and tango take place on the streets. Late morning you will head to the Mataderos market with handicrafts and typical food stalls in the area known as the Neighbourhood of the Argentinean Gaucho! Your guide will take you to enjoy some of the typical food on offer for lunch. The rest of day is at leisure for you to enjoy a last night in Buenos Aires. (B, L)

Day 5: Transfer to airport

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)

Note on Sunday markets:
This program should begin on a Thursday in Buenos Aires so that you can spend Sunday at the fairs (also note the Mataderos market is not available during summer months - December to February)

HOT Tip

The city is squarely divided into ‘barrios’ (neighbourhoods), each with a distinctive identity. Don’t miss the colourful La Boca district, home of the tango, charming San Telmo with its many cafés or Recoleta, the fashionable restaurant and shopping area. Also visit the legendary Recoleta Cemetery where 'Evita' is buried. Another favourite of ours is to visit the Markets in Recoleta which take place every Saturday and Sunday, and the Antique Markets in San Telmo on Sundays.
