Day 1: Arrive in Darwin 
Your journey begins in the tropical Top End of the Northern Territory, in Darwin. Here you will check in to your overnight accommodation to prepare for the adventure that awaits.
Overnight: 2 nights SKYCITY Darwin Resort

Day 2: Darwin
This morning explore the city of Darwin at your leisure. Visit it’s many museums, art galleries and attractions. In the late afternoon, begin your Romantic Sunset Getaway – an exclusive luxury helicopter flight taking you over Darwin’s coastline. You will be transported to your own private tropical island beach. Enjoy the sunshine while sipping ice cold champagne and enjoying a delicious tapas platter. Your helicopter will return you into Darwin Twilight.

Day 3: Darwin to Kakadu National Park
Head to the majestic Kakadu. Along the way, join a morning cruise on the picturesque Corroboree Billabong. View the region’s myriad of birdlife and saltwater crocodiles with insightful commentary. Continue to the historical Bark Hut Inn for a refreshment stop, before reaching Kakadu. Taking old Jim Jim Road visiting White Lily Billabong, then arrive at Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). Enjoy a scenic walk along the edge of Barramundi Creek. At the base of Barramundi Falls you can swim or snorkel in the large plunge pool below. In the afternoon, it’s on to Nawurlandja Lookout: a short climb reveals a spectacular sunset across Anbangbang Billabong, Nourlangie Rock and the Arnhem Land escarpment. After sunset you will head to Jabiru and Anbinik Kakadu Resort for the night.

Day 4: Kakadu National Park to Arnhem Land
Today explore the northern region of Kakadu NP, on to Cahill’s Crossing along the East Alligator River. Take a scenic drive to Gunbalanya Aboriginal community, see stunning views of floodplains covered in bird life and water lilies running up alongside the escarpment. Take an opportunity to visit the Injalak Arts and Craft Centre, watch traditional local artists in action, before your Aboriginal guide takes you around the Injalak Hill art sites to experience some of the best Aboriginal rock art in Australia. You’ll return to the Injalak Art Centre, then it’s onwards to the Cobourg Peninsula. A 3-4-hour drive with stops and creek crossings along the way. Upon arrival at the campsite, you’ll enjoy nibbles on the cliff top and relax as the sun sets over Pt Essington.
Overnight: 3 nights Cobourg Coastal Camp

Day 5: Arnhem Land and Cobourg Peninsula
Enjoy a special ‘Cobourg-style’ cooked breakfast. Cobourg is abundant with amazing aquatic life, including six species of turtle, dolphins, sharks, crocodiles, stingrays, mud crabs and plenty of fish. You’ll cruise the Northern Territory’s largest Marine Park by boat, stopping to visit the Victoria Settlement ruins. After departing the settlement, you will enjoy a slow journey back to camp, with a few rest stops along the way. Enjoy some leisure time time back at camp and one of the freshest seafood dinners you’re likely to have.  

Day 6: Arnhem Land and Cobourg Peninsula
Today you will explore the eastern side of the park – this time by 4WD. Taking in the sites at Cobourg, home to internationally-significant wetlands, with freshwater paperbark swamps and billabongs just 100 metres from the coastline and then later on in the regions northern beaches. See if you can spot any turtles nesting in the area. Explore in the low tide for the variety of marine life amongst the exposed coral reefs and rock pools they call home. After lunch, you’ll go hunting for mud crabs using traditional Aboriginal methods and visit the Cultural and Information Centre to learn more about this fascinating region, before making your way back to camp. 

Day 7: Arnhem Land and Cobourg Peninsula and Darwin
It’s an early start to make your way back to Kakadu NP. This journey will take you along the banks of the mighty East Alligator River where you’ll stop for lunch. View the ancient rock art, and take a short walk to the top of Ubirr to see your final spectacular views of the surrounding wetlands and stone country. On the drive to Darwin you will stop to visit the Mamukala wetlands, a wild haven for many species of native birds and reptiles.

Day 8: Leisure Day
A leisure day. Tonight, enjoy a Charles Darwin Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise while you soak up a Darwin sunset.

Day 9: Board The Ghan Expedition in Darwin
Board The Ghan today and get ready for your first Off Train Experience, choose your tour in beautiful Katherine.
Overnight: 3 nights The Ghan Expedition

Day 10: The Ghan Expedition, Alice Springs
Your arrival into Alice Springs gives you a full day to explore the iconic town in the red heart of Australia. In the evening, enjoy an Aussie barbeque dinner under a canopy of stars.

Day 11: The Ghan Expedition, Coober Pedy
Pull into the middle-of-nowhere stop at Manguri. Here you will discover the sun-scorched opal mining capital of the world, Coober Pedy.

Day 12: The Ghan Expedition, Adelaide 
Your arrival into Adelaide completes one of the great travel experiences of the Northern Territory.
