6 of the best Gold Coast views

Thinking of a holiday on the Gold Coast? Check out our top GC stays for a top GC holiday.

The Gold Coasts’ 70 kilometres of beaches are lined with suburbs, some with your ordinary family homes, and others jampacked with soaring skyscrapers. With so many high rises, ‘partial views’ aren’t hard to come by, but if you want to watch the sun rise over the ocean from your bed, then there’s certainly a few rooms that stand out…

Generally three star properties don’t come with great views, but the BreakFree Imperial Surf is an exception. It’s located right on the Esplanade, just a few blocks north of the main Surfers Paradise strip. Its beach front location means you have unimpeded ocean views from your One or Two Bedroom Apartment.

Surfers Aquarius is a four star House of Travel favourite and one of our top sellers. The tower is absolute beach front, and is located within walking distance to both Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise. Looking out from your balcony you’ll have unobstructed views of the ocean, plus the bonus of the Surfers and Broadbeach skylines to the north and south. The One, Two and Three Bedroom Apartments are particularly spacious, making it an excellent option for families. They also have indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, sauna and tennis courts to keep everyone entertained.

Coolangatta is one of the Gold Coasts’ southern suburbs, and is known for being quieter and more relaxed than the likes of Surfers and Broadbeach. The four star Mantra has One, Two and Three Bedroom Apartments, located above the restaurants and shops of Marine Parade, and overlooking the pinetree-lined beach. The great difference with the view here is that you look out over the beach towards the gleaming skyscrapers of Surfers, an impressive sight for sure! If you’re planning on staying here, ask your House of Travel agent about flying to the much closer Gold Coast Airport, instead of Brisbane.

If you want a step up from the Mantra, then the five star Reflections Coolangatta is for you. The resort is again, right amongst the restaurants and shops on the beachfront. They have a strict no party policy, so you can assured you’ll have a quiet, relaxing stay. The beautifully furnished One, Two and Three Bedroom apartments have large balconies and free WiFi!

If you want all the glitz and glam of the Gold Coast, look no further than the Hilton. The two brand new towers are quite possibly the most striking in the entire city, and you’ll be wowed before you even step inside. Again, it’s brand new so the rooms are modern, well designed and super stylish. Views vary across the resort. The lower floors have views through the city to the beach or the Gold Coast Hinterland. But the higher floors look right over the top of the other high rises, for stunning unobstructed ocean views.

Not one for high rises? Luckily there is one low rise resort with great views, the Sheraton Mirage at Main Beach. This luxury resort does have rooms with views to the ocean, but it’s the Lagoon View Rooms that make this place special. The lagoon is in fact the resort pool, which is massive. These rooms also have a wonderful terrace so you can access the pool straight from your room. Or if you’d like a bit more privacy, perhaps the Garden View Rooms will suit.
