That includes kids - while they may not get the same kick out of the club scene as you do (or once did, if those days are long gone!), there's more than enough here to keep them on their toes. Here's our pick of the most exciting and enchanting attractions for your little ones in the big city. Eat Street Markets The Eat Street Markets transform Hamilton Wharf into a bustling adventure of food, fun and fairy lights. The Asian-style market is extra special thanks to its evening setting, with shipping containers providing the stalls for you to wander around with your kids. This is a great place to introduce your family to international cuisine, plus there are live performers to keep everyone entertained while they munch on their treats. Held on Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 p.m., the markets are also open on Thursdays in the lead up to Christmas. There's a real buzz here and it's very easy to get swept up in the fun. Samford Museum Step back in time at Samford Museum, which boasts relocated and purpose-built buildings that give guests of all ages a real insight into Samford's unique history. Your kids will love watching a real blacksmith at work, taking in a kippa-making ceremony and using a slate and pencil in a slab in place of pen and paper. See milk churned into butter and try washing clothing through a ringer - it's harder than you think! The museum is only open on Wednesday and Sundays, however, so plan your trip accordingly. Sciencentre The Sciencentre is a children's dream, but adults seem to always end up having just as much fun as their little ones! It's dedicated to teaching kids about science and is part of Queensland Museum, with hours upon hours of interactive experiences for kids. There is a real 'hands on' focus here, helping children to learn through playing and experiencing. Action Stations is a must-see part of the museum, with five stations including Try it, Use it, Move it, See it and Hear it. Once you've experienced those stations head over to Water World, where you learn about tides, seasons, weather and the climate and the forces that affect them. Your kids will love making their own whirlpools and waves, while you can simply supervise or roll up your sleeves and take part in the fun. Rock climbing Kids love climbing, whether it's on the jungle gym or all over your furniture. Let them get it out of their systems by taking them to Rocksports Indoor Climbing Centre for safe and thrilling rock climbing for all ages. Children under 13 will need an adult to manage a safety rope - that's where you come in. Watch your little climber reach all new heights on the walls, sneaking in a bit of exercise at the same time. Best of all, you don't need previous climbing experience to tackle these walls. All climbers receive a free safety demonstration before they get going, and the climbs are coded by colours to denote what level of difficulty they are. There's a huge range of options here, from absolutely beginner through to seasoned pro, so you can rest assured your kids will be safe and not stretched beyond their limits. There are two locations of Rocksports - one in Fortitude Valley, and one in Logan City. And this is just scratching the surface of what you can do with the kids in Brisbane. The Southbank Pool and Markets is very popular with families. You can also hop on the Wheel of Brisbane for panoramic views of the city and to plan your next move.
