story by: Inspire UK & Ireland

The Cotswolds are such a spread-out and diverse area that there truly is something for everyone.

With so much to see and do, at House of Travel we’ve compiled our top 3 activities, but make sure you speak to your HOT specialist and identify what is right for you and your holiday.

  • There are many attractive gardens in stately homes and throughout the Cotswolds: encompassing the counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, and south Warwickshire. Many of the Cotswold towns have beautiful parks and formal gardens - several of which are free to visit.
  • Jane Austin, the famous novelist spent five years in Bath and this time spent here is reflected in the novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. The Jane Austen centre has been created with the help of the Jane Austen Society and is a wonderful exploration for Jane fans. The centre is open all year and is a great place to spend a wet afternoon.
  • Leisure time is the freedom to enjoy life away from the time-consuming chores of everyday work practices.  For the active there are endless things to do in the Cotswolds, from walking long distance trails & biking down quite country lanes, here you can enjoy boat trips on quite canals & rivers, fishing, sailing or swimming at the Cotswold Water Park, the largest inland water park in Britain & when the daylight fades you can enjoy the latest films, you can dance the night away , visit one of the theatres or just relax in a quiet country pub.
