MOFO, Tasmania
The island of Tasmania brims with intriguing art, with the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) having pride of place in Hobart. It draws acclaim from all over the world with its exhibitions and showcases that push the boundaries and challenge the heart and mind.

In light of this, it's no surprise that Tasmania is also home to the 'MOFO' and 'DARK MOFO' festivals. The former is the Festival of Music and Art, and next takes place January 15-18, 2015. Expect all sorts of local and international musicians and artists to converge here, along with those who are eager to have a look and a listen.

Dates for the next DARK MOFO festival are yet to be announced, but this is geared to a more sophisticated, adult audience with some darker themes involved!

GOMA, Brisbane, Queensland
Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) can be found at Stanley Place, in the Cultural Precinct of South Bank, Brisbane. What's it home to? An amazing collection of artworks and exhibitions sure to inspire you.

In total, there are more than 16,000 Australian and international works housed in the gallery, from paintings and sculptures to multimedia installations.
Peruse collections such as the Australian, Asian and International collections, and check out the latest exhibitions. 'Harvest' is a current exhibition that explores the production, consumption and symbolism of food, while 'Jemima Wyman Pattern Bandits' delves into the relationship between pattern, people and architecture.

See what might be on tour at GOMA when planning your visit to Brissy.

South Australian Museum
Check out the South Australian Museum in the sunny city of Adelaide. This is home to a number of collections and exhibitions that explore everything from Ancient Egypt and Aboriginal culture to sea creatures such as whales and dolphins, and plenty more.

Check out minerals and meteorites, opals, fossils and other wonders of the Earth during your visit.
