Melbourne has a reputation for being a city of fashionistas, with some incredible shopping on offer from Australia and around the globe. Why not treat yourself and shop up a real storm with a visit to this stylish city?

While you're there, make sure you check out these five shopping hotspots. Here you'll find incredible buys at a range of different price points. There's truly something for everybody in Melbourne.

Emporium
One of Melbourne's freshest shopping spots, Emporium is located on Lonsdale Street in Melbourne's city centre. This new precinct is home to a wonderful mix of local and international designers, so there will be something to suit your tastes. It's not just clothing, either. There are incredible options for food and drink, so be sure to come hungry.

Wander the precinct, which connects to Melbourne Central, Myer Melbourne and to David Jones by pedestrian bridges and tunnels. Stroll through the glorious architecture, creative flagship stores and concept spaces.

DFO South Wharf
DFOs, or Direct Factory Outlets, are located around and about Melbourne. South Wharf is one of their destinations, set amongst the beautiful location nearby the city's Docklands and central district.
Peruse a range of affordable shops and prepare to be spoilt for choice when it comes to your dining options, with plenty of mouthwatering eateries on offer.

Bourke Street Mall
No serious shopper can go past Bourke Street Mall when looking for a bargain in Melbourne. Hours can be spent window shopping - or swiping your credit card - at this destination.

You'll find this mall between Swanston and Elizabeth Streets, only open to trams and pedestrians so you can have a truly leisurely time.

Here, you'll happen upon flagship stores such as Forever New, Zara and Sportsgirl. Don't forget to set aside time to explore David Jones' luxurious wares and Myer's great variety of goods.

Being a bustling inner-city area, there are plenty of places to stop off for a refreshing coffee and snack.

Fitzroy
Fitzroy is a creative district that's full of great attractions, including its shops. Make your way to Brunswick and Smith Streets for shops selling anything from boutique clothing to old records, books and other treasures.

You'll find a lot of locally-designed and made gems here too, so stay a while and soak in the community-minded vibe. Stay until the evening and head to one of the trendy bars that can be found amongst its lanes, such as the Attic.

Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for inspiring street art, too.

Chapel Street
The Chapel Street precinct is sure to catch any keen shopper's eye with its array of stores home to quality goods aplenty.

From mystery markets to artisan food shops and stalls and some of the country's most-loved clothing brands, it's a veritable paradise for anybody who wants to put their bank balance to good use.

This area also has regular events scheduled, whether a gig at a bar showcasing local musical talent or special showcases that highlight designers' new work, so keep your eyes out on the events' calendar. You never know what you'll stumble upon!

Chapel Street also has a thriving nightlife, so if you feel like going anywhere for a tipple you'd be wise to do it here.
