Top Bali Beaches

story by: House of Travel

Bali is a truly sumptuous destination that treats the senses like few other places on Earth.

While there are all sorts of delights to enjoy across the country, you can't beat Bali's beaches for natural beauty, fun and great activities.

Here are some of Bali's top beaches, from the popular to the most hidden gems.

Balangan Beach
This is one of Bali's most popular surfing beaches in the Kuta region. Although it's a well-known beach, it's not often crowded, so if you're looking for somewhere that's not too packed, Balangan might be the perfect place for you.

While it's great for surf, it's also ideal for general swimming and lounging, with plenty of gorgeous golden sand and areas for paddling and splashing around in.

It's also got an incredibly picturesque backdrop with rocky outcrops and green hills.
If you get hungry, there are plenty of cafes dotted along the shore to grab a snack.

Head along for a surf lesson if you're travelling solo or with friends, and if you're bringing the family, prepare for a fun day out building sandcastles and playing in the water.

Geger Beach
The Nusa Dua district is one of Bali's most luxurious enclaves, and it's also home to Geger Beach, one of Bali's most beautiful.

It's a safe beach that's great for swimming thanks to its calm, not to mention beautiful sparkling blue waters. This makes it popular for families with kids, but it doesn't stop plenty of younger people from coming along and enjoying the lively bars and restaurants nearby. There is a great range of restaurants to satiate you and there's always something going on at this fun and relaxed destination.

This is another Balinese beach with plenty of soft white sand so it's ideal for lounging on the shore with a good book, playing a game of beach volleyball with friends or having fun in the sand with the youngsters.

Nusa Dua Beach
Then there's Nusa Dua Beach itself. Its pristine shores are packed with soft sand as far as the eye can see. This is just one of the reasons it's a great place to spend the day and it's within the vicinity of plenty of amazing shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Here the sea is sparkling, calm and welcoming, so it's great for swimming and even snorkelling.

It's also quite a quiet area, so if you're looking for a beach without a crowd, this is one of your best bets in the area. Here you can truly unwind and listen to the gently lapping waves against the shore.

Do you love catching a beautiful sunset while on holiday? Then this is one of the best places to do it. Settle down on a blanket for the evening, perhaps with a picnic, and look out to the horizon as the sun goes down. It doesn't get much better than that.

Padang Padang Beach
Padang Padang Beach is a beautiful destination that takes a little more effort to get to, but it's well worth it. You'll get to experience real serenity here, so it's worth the trip to the region of Pecatu, South Kuta.

Once you make your way to the area, you have to walk down a narrow cliff path of steps to get to the beach - but the walk soon opens up and reveals a stunning, naturally beautiful shore.

The beach is small so try and get there early to secure a spot, and then enjoy the warm, inviting waters plus fun rocks dotted through the shallows.

Bali is full of stunning beaches, so why not take a trip and experience a few of them?
