Cathay Pacific is increasing the availability of its popular Premium Economy Class seats. Cathay Pacific Premium Economy Class offers a wide variety of enhancements to the regular economy class experience, from priority boarding to more comfortable seats. The culmination of all these enhancements is sure to give an extra pep to travellers’ steps as they embark on an adventure, not to mention a less frazzled returning holidaymaker. The benefits to upgrading to Cathay Pacific Premium Economy Class start before you even get on the plane. Embarking can all too often be the most stressful part of a trip. However, Cathay Pacific Premium Economy Class passengers enjoy dedicated check-in counters, additional baggage allowance and priority boarding, meaning less time spent queuing, no fear of an oversize baggage penalty and no mass scrum to get on the plane. Once on the plane, Premium Economy Class has its own cabin consisting of between 26 to 34 seats, each with plenty of legroom – the front row seats even have leg rests. The seats are noticeable larger, about 6 inches, than in economy class, as well as reclining back a full 8 inches and featuring headrest with four-way movement. The accompaniments are nicer too, with larger pillows, softer blankets and an amenity kit. The hospitality Premium Economy Class passengers are treated too is certainly ratcheted up a couple of notches. It starts with a welcome drink, an enticing selection of entrees, complimentary bottled water and a wide variety of snacks, but the large meal table and centre-console cocktail table is a real game changer. No more trying to eat with cramped elbows. In-flight entertainment also gets a decent upgrade – a 10.6” widescreen personal TV and noise cancelling headsets. Another cool addition is the multi-port connector for streaming from personal media devices. Other nice touches to make travellers’ lives a little easier are the extra storage space in the front seatback as well as a USB port and an in-seat power supply for charging mobile phones, laptops and other personal electronic devices.
