South Africa: Winelands & West Coast Wonders

story by: Mike Williams

On this whirlwind 3 day tour, enjoy unique West Coast wine, cuisine and hospitality. Taste and feel two of South Africa’s exclusive products. Mix it up with a visit to West Coast National Park.

Day 1: Riebeek-Kasteel
From Cape Town travel inland along the Winelands route via Stellenbosch, Paarl and Wellington to Riebeek-Kasteel. The Cape Winelands is the largest wine producing region in the country with over 200 cellars. Enjoy a wine tasting at a Swartland vineyard.

Day 2: Paternoster
Head for Paternoster via Cederberg; a proclaimed wilderness area in 1973 and now a World Heritage Site. Stop in at the charming and bustling small town of Clanwilliam for factory tours of two equally quintessential South African products: the Veldskoen and rooibos tea.

Day 3: Cape Town
After breakfast, continue on your tour of the West Coast to the secluded harbour of  Saldanha Bay. Enjoy a brief orientation of the harbour before being whisked away to the West Coast National Park, with its endless beaches. Stop in the charming village of Darling, the sweetheart of the West Coast area. End your tour with a late arrival into Cape Town.
