South Africa: Wild & Scenic Mpumalanga

story by: Mike Williams

View the awe-inspiring Panorama Route sights, interact with elephants and experience the local culture on this 4 day tour departing and ending in Johannesburg.

Day 1: Panorama Route
Departing from Johannesburg, pass through the village of Dullstroom and cross over Robbers Pass, named for the many stage coach robberies that took place here in the 19th century. Continue on to the Panorama Route with a stop to admire the views at God’s Window.

Day 2: Kruger National Park
Head to Elephant Whispers on the banks of Sabie River where you will interact with the elephants. A short drive later, you will be welcomed by the villagers of Kruger Cultural Village. With the African melodies still fresh in your mind, head into the legendary Kruger National Park where you will enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Mthethomusha Game Reserve
Journey once again through the magnificent expanses of Kruger National Park, before exiting through Melelane Gate. Enter Mthethomusha Game Reserve on the southern border of Kruger National Park. Seek out the Big Five with a late afternoon game drive.

Day 4: Johannesburg
With an early morning game drive, this is your last opportunity to spot and take photos of wildlife. Departing the game reserve, head to Chimpanzee Eden Sanctuary, the only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa. A scenic drive through Mpumalanga will see you back in Johannesburg.
