Get Inspired / Fiji Fiji Islands Highlights Share on email Print this article Share on Facebook Get Inspired / Fiji Fiji Islands Highlights story by: Inspire Fiji Imagine a tropical island where there’s fun for the entire family: fun kids clubs, great food. Doesn’t appeal? What about a boutique luxury island haven with enough beaches for you to have one to yourself? A little beyond your price range? Then how about cheerful dormitory-style accommodation or a traditional thatched bure? Of course, 1500 kilometres of white sand beaches aren’t the only attraction: there are also coral gardens, turtles to feed and a wide variety of watersports. Or just kick back and enjoy yourself. As remote as some of these islands are, getting there doesn’t have to be an all-day experience (unless you want it to be). Opt for a seaplane or even a helicopter and you’ll realise that getting there is easy – it’s leaving that’s difficult! Highlights • DIVING AND SNORKELING – The island resorts are popular with divers. With great dive spots literally on your doorstep, this means you can get into some serious diving very quickly. Many of the island resorts have their own dive operators. Even if you’ve never experienced scuba diving before, there are introductory courses offered by most resorts that will allow you to do so. Generally snorkelling is safe and fun just off the beach. • FISHING – The deep passages around the Malolo Barrier Reef provide exciting places to fish. Fish include Wahoo, Sail Fish, Barracuda, Giant Trevally, Tuna and MahiMahi (a strong fighting fish & delicious to eat). Many of the resorts offer fishing as part of their activities menu. • ISLAND HOPPING – Many of the island resorts offer island hopping safaris giving you an opportunity to see other island resorts en-route. You’ll blast across beautiful lagoons from island to island where you’ll get the chance to go ashore and enjoy. A number of the island safaris include a delicious champagne picnic lunch on the way. • SURFING – There are some fantastic surf breaks found along the southern part of the Malolo Barrier Reef in the Mamanuca Islands including Wilkes & Cloudbreak. Many of the island resorts can cater for that secret surf addiction so why not sneak away for a bit of “me time“ and surf at some of the best surf spots in Fiji. • RESORT ACTIVITIES – You’ll be able to enjoy many activities at the island resort of your choice. There’ll be the usual snorkelling, kayaking, handline fishing and windsurfing type activities and a range of adrenalin pumping activities such as banana boat rides, parasailing, jetskis and waterskiing – it’s all in a day’s activity in the islands Enquire Now First name* Last name* Email* Phone How can we help?
