Discover the spiritual heart of Australia and explore amazing outback landscapes with this self-drive from Alice Springs to the magnificent Kings Canyon and the World Heritage listed Uluru. Day 1: Alice Springs & Surrounds
A day to explore Alice Springs or take the opportunity to explore the spectacular gorges and gaps of the West MacDonnell Ranges.

Day 2: Alice Springs – Kings Canyon (450km)

Day 3: Kings Canyon – Uluru (Ayers Rock) (300km)
Start early so you have time to head into Watarrka National Park for the 6km rim walk at Kings Canyon. Discover the highlights of the canyon such as the Lost City and Garden of Eden. Continue along the Red Centre Way to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and experience the changing colours of Uluru at sunset.

Day 4: Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park
Up early this morning to see the sun rise over Uluru. Join the Mutitjulu Waterhole walk and learn about Anangu culture at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Spend the afternoon exploring Kata Tjuta on the Valley of the Winds Walk, and then watch the sun set over these majestic domes.

Day 5: Uluru – Alice Springs (445km)
Head back into Alice Springs, with stops at Mt Conner lookout and roadhouses along the way to meet the local characters.

Day 6: Alice Springs
Your trip ends today in Alice Springs.
