The crystal clear waters, breathtaking beauty and spectacular wildlife invigorate anyone lucky enough to venture there. This special place gives you a feeling of truly escaping from the world.

Day 1: Triabunna
You arrive at the coastal town of Triabunna. Go by boat to the isthmus of Maria Island. Set foot on a pristine, untouched beach. Here you’ll enjoy lunch overlooking the crystal waters of Shoal Bay before taking a walk to the tranquil Casuarina Beach camp. In the afternoon explore the trail to the spectacular Haunted Bay. Day 2: White Gums Camp
Start your journey along five beautiful beaches where you can watch dolphins play in the surf and sea eagles soaring overhead. By late afternoon you arrive at White Gums Camp. Take a refreshing swim or sip wine on the deck and anticipate dinner. (13km)

Day 3: Darlington
Head inland to the heart of the island and discover the rich greens of the grand forests. Wander through the planet’s largest stand of giant Tasmanian blue gums and you can choose to climb the peaks of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk. That evening you arrive at the fascinating world heritage settlement of Darlington where you’ll stay at the elegant colonial Bernacchi House and enjoy a final night banquet. (9-17km)

Day 4: Maria Island
Walk around the northern tip of Maria Island. The Fossil Cliffs walk takes you through a variety of spectacular woodlands and forests with rare endemic birds, wallabies and wombats on show. Arriving back at Darlington enjoy a celebratory champagne lunch before boarding the boat to go back to the mainland and Hobart. (4km)
