Ecuador Amazon

story by: Inspire South America

An expedition to the Ecuadorian Amazon jungle will take you in a dugout canoe or boat through its imposing yet peaceful rivers, Napo, Pastaza, Coca or Tigre. Located near the Andes it has one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world with many of the species found here still unknown to science and quite possibly hidden deep in the dense tropical rainforest next to the trails you will be walking on.

This large region in the lowlands of the Amazon basin has huge areas of rainforest and lures travellers interested in natural history, ecology, tropical habitats, indigenous tribes, bird watching and jungle treks. This tropical humid forest has a large number of unique and interesting animals such as the sloth bear, honey bear, tapir and armadillo and pink dolphin.
